Saturday at the Rock
Great weather at a great course, nothing is better for a Saturday.
The starter was a great guy that clearly explained the course layout and conditions.
The tee boxes showed signs of seasonal wear but were fine. Fairways were in really good shape. The greens were awesome. Reading the greens was another things. Again, this is a great course to challenge most average to above average players.
More than 5 stars
Had plans for the afternoon so booked an early tee time with the hope that I could play and still make it to my other commitment. It was cold so there was a two hour frost delay, Jack in the Pro Shop is a rockstar! Was apologetic and then offered a free bucket since the range was open. Hit some balls and then hung out. Ended up teeing off at 9:00 am and played by myself so I was finished in two hours. Greens were still a little beat up but it’s March, the traps were all in great shape, tee boxes were good as well. Rock Manor is a tough but fair course, if you haven’t checked it out I recommend that you go play at The Rock!
Don't waste your time or money
This course is well known and has its well documented pros/cons. Excellent layout, challenging from tee to green, slow play and apparently no one EVER repairs a ball mark. This review is of the greens and how they fared through the winter of 2026. They were aerated VERY late in the fall, if I remember correctly, it was November. I'm sure they waited because they schedule outings literally every day from Labor Day on and this must have been an especially busy year. However, it's the end of March. The greens still look like they were punched last week. Yes, I know grass does not grow during the dormant season, but you would think the greenskeeper knows this as well??? Additionally, there has been no effort to assist these greens ion recovering in any way except to lay some fertilizer. They haven't dressed the greens at all to allow the plugs to fill in. so you're literally putting on a hairy minefield for 18 holes. FOR EIGHTY THREE DOLLARS ON A FRIDAY AFTERNOON?????? And to make matters worse, this course is only going to swindle more people now that White Clay has closed down the road. I was at Ed Oliver last week as well. Their bent grass greens were perfect, and I mean PERFECT. I know for a fact EO gets as much play as Rock Manor. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere until they get a handle on these greens. Oh yeah, the bunkers stink too. Asphalt has been bleeding up through the base and into the sand for over a year. Good luck hitting out of those gravel pits.
stop supporting these run down greedy golf courses and literally go anywhere else for half the price and an actual normal paced round. these people might as well spit in your face after you pay for the round because thats how they are treating their customers.
dumpster fire & out of touch with reality
this place is charging $80 in the middle of february with snow still on the ground. people should stop supporting these greedy money hungry golf courses. this place is a dump and is overpriced by a long shot, the quality and pace of place is similar to a kids birthday party at a run down mini golf.
A little disappointed
I have played rock manor a couple times before this past tee time. It’s very nice course the only thing is no one fixes their bark marks on the green. And I get it some people are lazy, but for $100 a round every singe green from 1-18 looked like there was a direct hail storm above each green. It was honestly disappointing, I can’t blame it all on the greens crew they do a great job on the course but the green is super important and it seems like the people that play it have no respect for the course. I hope that this changes and it’s gets under control. Other than that it’s a great course! Maybe I’ll play it again if it’s in better condition. Honestly though it’s only because of the cost to play around being $100 with those conditions on each and every green. There are other course that chard $30 less in that area and now of the greens look like that.
Awesome place
Great staff. Course was in fantastic shape. Lots of fun
Great round
This place was awesome. The staff was super friendly from the get go. Course was in great condition and perfect weather. Pace of play was spot on even for the course being packed. Will definitely be back!!!
Course is in decent shape
Courses in decent shape it does get a lot of play so or a few rough spots. Otherwise it played well.
