Moanalua Golf Club

We were here visiting on vacation and did not want to spend an arm and a leg on green fees and Club rentals.

The course had lots of interesting elevation change. And a cool layout.

It’s cheap, but man the course is in rough shape. Tee boxes and greens aren’t great but playable. There’s literally no cut fairway grass. The fairway grass is comparable to hitting out of the rough on any other island course. It was often difficult to find tee balls that you knew were in the middle of the fairway. Hole 14 is washed out so you bypass it. The driving range is nice.

Very interesting course. Really friendly staff and other golfers. The course is being worked on and updated. Highly recommend!

Nice 9 hole course and a great value. Very friendly staff.

Nice short course, but signage, cart paths (or lack thereof at times) and fairways could use more improvement. Still, for a public course, it’s a decent place to play.

This is the oldest course in Hawaii (1892). There are no fairways here which make it difficult to find your balls, which also slows down play. The greens are horrendous and impossible to putt. There are no sand traps. There are no cart paths, and there are plenty of spots on the course with mud. Carts are old, facilities are even older.

But it's $30. And the views are spectacular. It's so fun hitting the ball into the valley from the elevated tee on #3. That beautiful view is also on #6 and #7, and on hole #8 you have a 40-foot elevated tee box to a par 3 green. #9 is split by a river in 2 places (which also splits hole #1), and if you're not accurate you're either hitting someone's car or going into the woods. This course is just loaded with character and is a unique layout that you cannot replicate anywhere else, and truly feels like Hawaiian golf.

Nice long 9 hole course. Greens are not great. Not the purpose of this course. Place to work on your shots and have fun. Perfect. Restaurant food is outstanding!

Inexpensive 9 hole course conveniently near Waikiki. Very pleasant with some nice views. Only the greens are maintained. Mostly compact dried grass and dirt. Tee boxes are not maintained.

Good little course for the price. No frills but playable and the staff is very friendly.

Solid course with a few long par 4s and 3s.
