Nice mature course in great shape
This is our first choice when we visit the Spokane area in September. There are changes in elevation and the 8th hole is a favourite with a dogleg left going down hill. It must have excellent drainage as there was no water standing after a torrential downpour and the greens were smooth and fast. Exceptional value at $20 with a power cart!
Great course. good condition.
keep ball in play and you will enjoy the course. weather is good, trees keep wind down.
Great All Around Course!
You cannot get much better for the match of the course and the price unless you spend three or four times more for a course with an elaborate waterfall and manicured grass.
Enjoyable course.
Good variety in terrain and types of hazards. Course is well maintained and fun to play.
long coarse, wide fairways.
Coarse had some muddy areas that could have been fixed, but over all a nice place to play.
Challenging with lots of trouble opportunities
I have played this course often but usually from the whites. Played the blues today and ended up between clubs a lot!
Straight shots are rewarded as trees can give you lots of blocked shots.
The sand traps need some work and the tee boxes when played late in the week look worn as they are only changed once per week. (or so I am told)
This is a great value and for me, a 11, a good challenge. I would recommend this course.
Gem of North Idaho
The Highlands is a beautiful course. Truly one of the best courses in North Idaho. Challenging holes throughout, and wonderfully maintained. Do not miss this course.
Decent course for what I paid
The price I got for this round of golf was AMAZING, so I can overlook some of the problems with the course simply because I got a great deal. My opinion would have been completely different of the course if I paid full price. Many holes had uneven mowed fairways, there were about 8-10 "swamps" to negotiate around the course and even more trouble areas that weren't properly marked. By the 15th hole, the cart battery died and I called the clubhouse to notify them. After yet another phone call and 40 minutes of waiting, had a replacement cart to finish the round. There was no apology for the cart dying or the ridiculously long wait.
Good value...but
Nice course but... poor yardage markings or non-existant. Never sure where the flag was till you got right to the green. Electric carts where nice.
Beautiful views and true rolling greens
Long walk but possible. Best to have a power cart. Challenging with pars and possible birdies. I like the three holes where I hit over gullies. One hole you must clear the gully to reach the fairway, another is crossing a gully to reach a short par 3 green and another is crossing a gully to reach a long par 3 green. There are a few blind shots that are difficult to figure out when you play for the first time. Great food for a reasonable price in the lounge.
everything went well, carts worked, no delays, exactly what's expected
the course is fine (not great), the pro shop staff (brad) is great, the restaurant is barely acceptable...we will play again...but only if we find a special ie. "hot deals"
Very nice course.
Cory on the desk is outstanding. Course and area are beautiful.
Great place to play
Very nice creatively designed course that is clearly well taken care of. The course does have lots of houses on pretty much every hole so it may be advised that newer golfers may be capable of hitting a house or two during their round. If you can find a round on golfnow here for a full round with cart @ $25 per person its a great bargain. One of the better moderately priced options in the region.
Beautiful homes to look at.
Fairways too narrow. Out of bounds everywhere. Will not go back.
Course laid out within residential community, making for a very long walk, if played that way.
The best practice driving range around as well as practice greens.
Buckets of balls, small $4, medium $7, large $9 is great value.
Practice range is on grass, not mats, which makes for more realistic practice.
The course was in excellent shape, had a great day.
Love the course.
Bring some extra balls your going to lose a few if you get a little off kilter, or you may drive through a fairway and old couple decides to play your ball because they have never seen a Taylormade golf ball. LOL, I hope that it shaved a stokes off his game, lol. All in all great fun. :) And they didn't give me a problem about wearing a tank top.
Soggy but good
Greens were in good conditions for all the rain that week. Some bad parts of fairway due to rain, overall good course
Course is challenging and has huge pine trees and lots of water.
Conditions were rather soggy the day we played as a spring thunderstorm was passing through. We waited for the rain to quit, and other than standing water in some areas, the course was lots of fun to play. With the rain chasing the normal population away, we had the course to ourselves, which made for a great day!!
