Turnberry Country Club

The course layout is excellent. No two holes are the same. Just the right amount of elevation changes. There are multiple tee boxes for any length golfer. However, the fairways have been declining since they opened the course for non-members. There are bare spots and diseased areas in the fairways. Greens are excellent. Way too much sand in the bunkers. But you will be happy that you played there.

After an enjoyable round a month ago we returned to Turnberry with a great Hot Deal. This is a beautiful, mature course with plenty of challenging holes, water hazards, and mature oaks. Expensive homes line the course but are not intrusive. Greens were slower than we were used to but rolled true. The only negatives are the sand traps were rather hard, and no drinking water on the course. Nice clubhouse, bar, and patio to enjoy a couple of beers on a beautiful day. Turnberry is now on our preferred course list.

Turnberry is a great track and used to be private. When it was private the course conditions were better but it is still good. The layout is challenging and each hole is unique. This track will challenge every skill level but is fair for all ages with the forward tees. The greens roll true and are in better condition than the fairways. Its a great course and you will be glad you played it.

You will enjoy this layout. Some great Holes. It will challenge even the best golfers. But it is fair from the forward tees.

Like most courses we play, the bunkers need to be raked more often, but again that seems common for most places. My only knock is I wish they would try to grow out the rough around the greens. It seems anywhere around the green the grass is very sparse so you're trying to hit pitch and chips from a hard ground. Otherwise TB gets 2 thumbs up.

Course was nice. Did not overcharge for beers on the course. They let to many twosomes out with other foursomes on the course. Next thing you have the ranger telling you to speed it up even though you are on pace because the twosomes are waiting. Kind of annoying.

Price was great. Pace of play was good. Course was in decent confitions.

Turnberry has always been a good value and is very playable for an average golfer. The day we played unfortunately was cart path only due to the 3.5 inches of rain from the night before but other than 15 and 16 (low areas of the course)it was pretty dry and very decent overall. Because of the type of sand traps they have, when there is heavy rain they fill and do not drain quickly so be prepared to lose a ball or two but other than than course played nicely. Laurie is always super nice in the clubhouse as well!

Interesting layout, elevations changes and lots of turns. Well kept fairways and greens, consistently trimmed trees [hardly any low branches]. Fairways were hard and had a bunch of very tight lies to chip onto challenging greens. Not ONE flat green out there with several that were severely sloped from back to front and some tough and tucked pins on banks and slopes. The greens were not lightning fast, which is unexpected since the fairways were pretty dry and everything was running a mile. But for $24 [hot deal with coupon] an absolute steal. Would definitely return!

Greens rolled fast and true, traps were taken care of, fairways were firm, but not "stupid hard." For the price paid, this is an outstanding value. Cannot speak to weekend rates, but other courses in the area are charging a lot more for less quality.

Hard to find course, but worth finding.

First time here. Thought it was private. Saw availability early and booked it. Nice traditional course with some great elevations. Open fairways, challenging layout & some tough sloped greens, that were somewhat quick. If I had to pick a negative it’d be the tee boxes were a bit neglected & wasn’t bentgrass turf. Overall loved the course & would recommend it. Perfect for the bogey weekend golfer!!!
