Worst course
This was the worst course I have ever played, they charged full price but the course was in very bad shape, fairways were soaked with water and bunkers were filled with water puddles. The tee boxes were brutally beaten up, greens were in bad shape with no one fixing divots. If the course is in bad shape, they shouldn’t be charging full, there should be a discounted rate or course should be closed if they don’t have proper drainage.
Fun layout.
If you are not a long hitter play the up tees.... The black (7300yd tips) and blue can leave you feeling black and blue. I'm about 250 260 off the tee so I could play the blues, but most people shouldn't.
The course is top notch for a public course. Lots of hazards and visual intimidation.
My only knock is they aren't very good about giving you much help with pin locations. Plus they were going back, mid, front, instead of front, middle, back... Which left me with a bunch of 60 ft putts and it was driving me crazy until I figured out they had it going backwards.. Curts have GPS but not exact to the pin location.
Excellent Course
Front 9 allows you to get warmed up and the back 9 is a real challenge. Course is really well kept, especially the greens and fairways. I would highly recommend.
Great championship course
If you want a proper test of golf play the 18 hole course. With the fast greens and many fairway bunkers, you should find that test. The green side bunkers had too much sand for this kind of course but everything else was great
Challenging Course
This was the first time I've played Village Links in more than 20 years. I usually play the White tees but after seeing the course layout, we decided to move to the Gold, which was still 6,000 yards. The course was in great shape except a few of the tee boxes. This is a tough course. There are a ton of bunkers strategically placed on the course. (I found six of them.). Combine that with multiple water hazards, you really have to have great control playing this course. It was a fun day and look forward to playing it again but hopefully with a little less wind.
Nice course and value
Very challenging for average golfers. Nice condition and greens rolled true with good speed. Need to strategize or likely get some blow ups.
Great course. I love the layout. The difficulty of the course was fair. Can’t wait to go back. 👍🏾👍🏾🏌🏿♂️
What once was...
This was a nice course years ago but now this is just a goat ranch. The tees and greens are brutally hacked up with no care from golfers OR staff. Don't waste your money. Eat at the outdoor restaurant instead. That is the best part of this place.
One of the best public courses in Chicagoland
Beautiful course, great layout...greens are smooth, fast and challenging. 5 sets of tees allow for all levels of player. Very reasonably priced, especially when comparing to similar courses in the area. Huge driving range with grass teas, and four practice greens, two for chipping practice. Can’t beat this place.
Great Muni
Great municipal course. Tees allow for various abilities. Fairways and greens always in great shape. Sand traps are mixed some good and some not so good. Course layout is average. Nothing to exciting except for 18th hole which is hard finishing hole but very gimmicky more than hard. Layout allows for halfway house accessible several times. Proshop is basic. Has what you need. Nice restaurant/bar for post round apps or drinks. Nice grass driving range and several putting greens and separate chipping area. Driving range prices a bit pricey. Should get free small bucket when playing 18 but dont. Holes are fairly independent only in a few areas do the holes get a bit congested with 9 hole course.
Pricey - tough course
Terrific layout. 5 tees provide challenge for every handicap. Greens are probably a 9 on stimp, which is slow especially for the $75/ cart to play. Great $45 track, course conditions and amenities fit for that same level, not elite experience.
