Golfer Reviews
Appreciate the 4 star review. Would love to hear how we can bump it to a 5 star. info.meadowlark@forestpreservegolf.com
Too slow even for holiday
Holidays bring out idiots. I was one for playing. Two in front played from back tees, hit about 50 yards, took a minute to hit each shot. I quit after 7 holes. Three groups on 8th tee.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We pride ourselves on providing golf for everyone. Sometimes that can bring out beginners and sometimes the low handicapper. We will do our best to make sure pace is moving along. Hope to see you in the near future.
Thank you so much for the 5 star review.
Great value for 9 holes
Greens keeper is exceptional here for a Forest preserve course. Greens in great shape and fairways beautiful. No sand traps an minimal water but I’m told this is longest 9 hole course in IL with two 500 yd Par 5’s. Unlike most 9 hole courses you can air it out. Clubhouse people like Scotty super nice.
Thank you so much for the kind words and the 5 star review. We love our team and they work hard making sure the experience is 5 star every time. Thanks again for the review and hope to see you back on the course soon.
Seemed slow
The greens looked bad...brown and aerated...but putted true. Pace of play seemed slow but finished in about 2 hours. Can't complain...first time I even touched a club this year.
Aeration is just a part of keeping conditions top notch. Greens are already completely healed and greened back up. Hope to see you back on the course soon.
Public Course
Course was in excellent condition! Friendly staff.
Great overall day !!
Definitely will play it again
We really appreciate you leaving us this great review. Cant wait to having you back out soon.
Thank you so much for this great review. Don't hesitate to reach out and let us know how we can get the 5th star. info.meadowlark@forestpreservegolf.com
Thank you for the review. Would love to hear about how we could bump the experience. info.meadowlark@forestpreservegolf.com
Walnut Street Boys
Nice public course, one water hole, no sand. One of longest courses in state. Scott and Carlos always do a band up job! Thanks
Thank you for the great review. Hope to have you back on the course soon
Thank you for the 5 star review. We work hard to provide the best experience we can.
After work Round
Course is always fun to play, biggest trouble is always between the ears...😜🤣 Looking forward to many more after work rou is this year!
Good place and value
Good, challenging 9 hole course. Good value. Can be brutal with slow pace when busy. 3 hour round.
Starter
February round at Meadowlark. Conditions here are average at best in peak season. In February, it’s just dormant grass and goose turds. Still, the starter was giving every group a hard time about having their push carts on the tee box. I’ve never had anyone tell me to keep a pushcart off a tee box at a private club. Hazeltine - which has hosted the Ryder Cup - lets you roll pushcarts on the greens.
It’s dudes like this who turn into tyrants the moment they have an ounce of power that gives golf courses a bad reputation.
Winter Golf
Course was in great shape for a round in February. Can't beat 65 degrees in Chicago. Meadowlark gave us the opportunity to enjoy a round. The course was in very good shape considering it's the "off season."
Thanks for the great review. Come out soon and enjoy the great weather and great course.
