Good course with open layout.
Greens are in good condition for a Muni course. No real penalties for wayward shots so a good place to make swing changes/club changes. Lots of balls to be found in the woods, but be wary of poison ivy.
Pace can be on the slow side but there are never any Marshalls hawking over you. It’s a snob free atmosphere. You can pony up and cross the street if that’s your bag...
Offers a chance to use every club in your bag.
Long 9 hole
Fortunate to get an afternoon tee time. Easy 40 min drive from downtown. straightforward 9 hole forest preserve course. Plays like a championship course with two looong par fives. No bunkers or water hazards. Greens true and fast. Friendly staff with no attitude. Carts now allowed so easy two hour round. Pretty good for 25 bucks.
Great Warm up Course
Perfect course during the current situation. You can use all your clubs. Easy course to walk.
Nice break
Long 9 with enough challenge for the average player. Little water and no sand traps. Friendly place.
Nice 9 hole course
Nice 9 hole course. No sand.traps. Just one hole over water. Wide fairways. Nice layout. Challenging enough for a hacker like me. Staff is great very friendly. Course was in decent shape. My first time there, I’ll be back
Long 9 hole course
Course is a good lay out with only 2 par 3's both over 185 yards and 2 par 5. Course conditions itself are just ok. There are no bunkers at all. Played earlier this year after the heavy rains and course was surprisingly in great shape. Greens are in fairly good shape a few bumps and lack of people fixing divots. There really is no fairway just shorter cut grass that is rock hard and mostly weed grass. The rough is about the same as fairway so same shot from both areas. The tee box needs work bad. It also is regular grass/weed but all were basically just dirt now so have to hit elsewhere. played this weekend and they had a grill set up on the 5th or 6th hole that was nice while you wait for the group ahead on a par 3. The pace of play was awful. no ranger to move people along and people at times all over the place due to some holes run right next to each other. People just need to learn how to move with a purpose and if you hit it short move up and give it a go. The course has good golf carts. You can sign up for text deals and they always have specials with pack of golf balls or free beer that is nice. Good place for beginners and people that dont play much to get experienced and have fun. I think it's only good if you get the deals other than that I would not pay full price. It is a cook county forest preserve course so take it for what it's worth.
Crowded
Had 15 people waiting on one hole. No ranger. Greens were riddled with divots. Tee boxes were rough, no grass left.
Perfect 9-holer
This course is perfect for a 9-holer, to get hold itch out of the way. Very friendly staff, and a nice layout.
