Nice track
Very enjoyable track tucked away in the woods. We had a good time playing there squeezing in 9 holes in the middle of the day.
Long 9 hole course
Forest preserve course. 9 hole that plays really long. I like that there is only 2 par 3 and both over 180 yards. A couple par 5 and the rest par 4. Course has no bunkers so you can always go for it. Nice layout and never confused where to go. The course its self is ok. Fairways are regular grass just slightly cut shorter then rough. Greens are in ok shape could use some repairs but are very challenging. Overall good place to play for beginners, and decent value for your money.
The rough needs to be cut shorter. Spend to much time finding your ball in the rough.
No starter 3 empty holes
Took 90 minutes to play the first 4 holes. A foursome of white guys in maga hats with 3 empty holes in front of them. No starter or ranger but over 9 staff mostly looking clueless. Avoid at all costs.
Don't follow tee times
Booked a tee time and was forced to play with a group by the starter, who was extremely rude. We were playing behind a 5-some as well which was frustrating. Course conditions were average at best, greens were not very well maintained.
What is the point of accepting tee times if you do not honor them? Would not play here again.
Best course for the average golfer very enjoyable
The course was in great shape and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly
First nice day
Let me start with course condition and why I only gave it a average rating. It was the first nice day of the season and the course has not had a chance to respond to opening day. I’m told it is well maintained. Very open course with wide fair ways. Great for someone who slices. Relatively long course for a 9 hole. Very basic and no frills type of course. Inside staff and starter very nice. The other golfers also very accommodating as the groups ahead of me were a bit slow. I shot terrible but it was nice to get out.
Nice layout, terrible condition
Due to lack of rain, the fairways were basically weeds, dead grass & rock hard!
I’d love to play the course under better conditions as it seems like it’s laid out nicely.
Pace of play killed the day.
Let's start with the positives: The staff were great and the course is a decent layout. The negatives: This course is not equipped to handle more than a small crowd. It is only a 9 hole course, and they don't have enough carts to accomodate. We had to wait for a cart from others finishing and not making the turn for a second 9. The starter was overwhelmed with new groups and those making the turn. This was the slowest 9 holes I have ever played, taking nearly 3.5 hours. My wife is a patient golfer, and this one even ate her up with all of the waiting. We were both playing well enough to stay interested, or we would have left due to the extreme down time. Some tees were 2 groups deep. The fairways must not have water as some were sparse in key areas. The greens were wooly and very slow. In their defense, we played on Labor Day. However, we do not plan to return, and I highly recommend that anyone planning to play here call ahead to assess the crowd first. I imagine this could be a good experience on a less crowded day.
Good length for 9-hole course
pleasantly surprised with the length of this course. the staff was very attentive and friendly. greens could use a little work
Pack a snack
Golfers never heard of ready golf. All think they can hit the ball 300 yards and so wait until the group ahead has cleared the green before they hit. Pace of play not acceptable. Took 2 hours and 45 minutes for 9 holes!
Everything is SSSSSLLLLLOOOOOWWWWWW!
If you are in any bit of a rush, DO NOT play this course. Took me and my friend 2 hours and 15 minutes to play and we shot in the 40's. Not only was the pace slow but the gentleman at the pro shop who was really nice, took his sweet time. There were two gentleman in front of us paying and it took us nearly 15-20 minutes to get out of there. There was no ranger anywhere to be found. There were 2 groups of 4 walkers playing a few groups in front of us and no one did anything about it. Not only did I miss two birdie putts because I had to putt over a slight skid or small crater whatever you want to call it on the green. But the experience was quite awful. Thankfully it was a beautiful day and my first round out this year so I remained calm.
Hi Zack,
Thank you for taking the time to review your experience at our facility. We are sorry to hear that your first round of the season did not meet your expectations. As always, we try our hardest to provide the best experience possible to our guests but on occasion fall short. As can be expected on beautiful days, we experience a much higher volume of traffic than normal, and we do our best to monitor the flow to keep a good pace. In the event that you feel that the pace of play is too slow, or that there is something that we can do to improve your experience while you are here, please feel free to contact our golf shop at any time so that we can dispatch one of our staff members to your location so that we may solve the problem. Likewise, we also try to keep our check-in process as expedient as possible, and we will certainly be looking into the cause for delay during that time. In regards to the greens, we aerified our course on May 10th, but we will ensure that our agronomy team looks into the imperfections that can often be so costly when finishing a hole. If you have any additional concerns, please feel free to contact us at any time and ask to speak with our General Manager. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
WARNING STAY AWAY FROM THIS COURSE
cook county forest preserve police share the parking lot and they issue frivoulous tickets to the golfers while they are on the course. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS . STAY AWAY typical crook county money grab.
Poor
Typical Crook County course, poor conditions even with the amount of rain that has fallen in the past month. Got stuck behind four foursomes that were playing every terrible shot they hit and the ranger never enforced them to pick up speed. Never playing here again.
Longest 9 Holes
Meadowlark is the course I actually play the most due to it's proximity to my home and the reasonable prices the friendly staff really help to brighten this course up as many times I play this course it never gets boring: This course offers two challenging dog leg par 5's along with two long Par 3's; this is not your typical 9 hole easy track it is 3500 yards yes 3500 yards you will have to use every shot in your back to tackle this track make sure you bring your A game.
Great 9 hole course
Everything was great, except for my 2nd time booking tee time at course through Golf now, my reservation did not show in system but staff honored email confirmation I showed
