Chick Evans Golf Course

Group ahead of was two unsupervised youths which is great to see but it killed the rate of play. Tee boxes are in horrendous condition but was expected with all the rain fall. The starter is a very nice guy. Hot rate was a fair price for what was delivered.

This is the 2nd time I played here in as many weeks. The conditions were good, staff friendly, and the pace was ok, it was a Sunday though, so I expect it to be a little slower. They have a couple of quirky holes, #2 particularly is tough because you have water and trees to the left and trees in front of you which make it pretty hard to pick a line to play on. Overall, still a nice course, I’m sure I’ll play it again.

For a forest preserve course it was in better shape than I remembered in the past. Tee boxes still need a little upkeep but good for the price

This was my first time here and I found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming. I really liked the layout, it was forgiving and interesting with some challenging wholes mixed in. The conditions were very good, considering all the rain the previous couple of days. The greens were soft with lots of ball marks, but that’s not really the courses fault if people don’t fix their ball marks. I will definitely be back!

I think this is one of the better Chicago area municipal courses, however, you can hit very good drives and still have it be punitive with the trees that are overhanging the fairways. I think for a course with this low of a slope, they need to cut those back. Other than that, this is a great place to play!!

Burned out tee boxes. Nobody is repairing divot in the green.

The putting surface was very bumpy. Maybe this course gets a lot of play. The golfers didn’t repair their ball marks.

Played 9 holes for 2:30 hours, no ranger. Made the turn and they sent 4 additional groups off the back to play 9 in front of us. Literally turnaround and went home. Let alone it cost $50 to play at this very poorly maintained golf course. Do NOT play here

Nice weather public course average players

Slow pace a ranger would be helpful to set pace of play enforce common play etiquette.

Really enjoyed my round at Chick Evans! I’m definitely not a pro golfer, but the course was in great shape and offered just the right amount of challenge. It kept things interesting without being overly frustrating. Best of all, I managed to lose only a few balls 🤪. Great course for golfers who want a fun round while still being tested a bit. I’ll definitely be back!
