About
Foss Park Golf Course has a convenient location in North Chicago that is an easy drive in from the city. It's a public course that is known amongst locals for being one of the area's best golf values. The layout is wide-open save for three holes that are framed by towering mature trees. The golf course strikes a good balance between being challenging and playable. The fairways are narrow and demand accuracy but the massive greens are more forgiving. Each hole offers a variety of different playing options, which makes the course appealing to a wide range of skill levels. The golf course has plenty of sand, plus water hazards come into play on several holes. There is also a driving range and large practice putting green available at Foss Park G.C.

Nice course
Always like playing this course they just increase the price from last year I wish they would make it a little cheaper and more accessible hard would I pay for my foursome from my kids and me

One of my favorite courses
Great course at a good value. The only negative is they need to bring back the starter to control the 1st tee box. There were about 6 full groups of players at the 1st tee. Very chaotic.

Unacceptable
Course was overbooked and it was a chaotic scene with help from staff, they could care less how ridiculously slow and backed up the course was. Waited on every single hole, the majority of the people on the course had absolutely no clue about golf etiquette or even any common sense! These people should not be allowed on the course without guidance from staff members! Course conditions were awful aswell, horrible tee boxes and greens had divot marks everywhere. Waste of my money and time, never playing here again.

Course in excellent condition
Love this golf course. Very challenging. Fairways and greens in excellent condition. Staff are friendly.

Great value
I have played this course on and off for over 20 years. This time the course was in the best shape I've ever seen. Grass was green, greens in good shape especially since we have had 90 degree temps and not much rain lately.

Good course but pace of play not enforced
Course was in decent shape. Lots of trees, little sand. Pace of play was poor. There were singles and doubles stacked up two or three on each hole (maybe because of social distancing?) everyone was respectful and kept distance between each other on shots but a lot of waiting on the tee box.

Great course conditions! Very good value!
Overall, this was a very good course that I would recommend. Conditions were excellent throughout the entire course, and the pace of play was excellent as well. Very good course for $50. At times the back 9 was a bit frustrating because the trees overhang much of the fairway on a few holes, and their are a few spots that have unnecessary challenging hazards, such as drainage ditches and tress in the fairway. But overall very good. The only negative I had was that the driving range was in very poor condition (yardages way off too) and we weren't able to get a cart until about 20 minutes prior to our tee time. But the practice green for chipping and putting was also in excellent shape, same as all the greens on the course.

Good course
Still a nice course, but the price sure went up. On top of the increase, no senior rate or junior rate. Other than a couple tee boxes needing work, was a pleasant round.

Better than before
Condition of the course was much better than before. Greens were consistent and rolling pretty good. Pace of play was fast I think because it was Monday and a hot day. Overall it was good day.
