Deerpath Golf Course

We booked an early afternoon tee time, it had rained a lot the day and night before, so every bunker and low area was filled with water. Seems to not drain well. Lots of areas with casual water, and cart paths only for the carts. Despite this, we played along at a reasonable pace for the first few holes, but were stuck behind a walking foursome of young beginner golfers who fell severely behind pace. Fortunately they were polite and let us play through at the turn, where there was at least a two-hole gap. Perhaps golf courses don't really do this any more, but in the old days there should have been a ranger keep track of groups that fell behind pace and given warning. I don't believe they knew etiquette well enough to offer to let us play through, but it was nice that they did let us play through when asked. The course itself is decent, the greens rolled well and maintenance seemed to be on point. The staff was friendly and helpful. This seems to be a course that many younger people play and develop their games, saw several being picked up by their parents after their round. Good for them and I hope they learn to play well.

Good conditions! The trees killed me today, but it is a very nice public course. Not a lot of water and but a lot of trees.

Had a wonderful time on sunday morning.

Courses in wonderful condition, fairways and greens and great shape. The pace of play was unheard of for a sunday morning in the suburbs, threesome finished in under 3hr 20min

Excellent value for the money highly recommend

Grabbed the 6:40am tee time. First one off the tee box. Played in under 2:30hrs. Tricky and fun course. Can trim some of those trees on 15

Challenging course but not overwhelming

Despite open tee times being clearly available on GolfNow, Greg Baeten refused to honor them and couldn’t give us a straight answer. He avoided eye contact, acted unprofessionally, and made us question whether the course values its guests at all. Every other staff member was friendly and welcoming but Greg was completely out of line. When I said I’d gladly take my business elsewhere, he acted like this was the only course in town. Go kick rocks, Greg… you’re really not that important and learn how to look another man in the eyes when you speak to them.

Greens were aerated earlier in the week- you should not have to pay full price for a round when green conditions are subpar. My suggestion- aeration week should mark the beginning of the fall rates.

Course is always in good condition, no blind shots, number 11 requires a longer drive off the tee in order not to be blocked out, it’s a 90 degree dogleg right. 17th and 18th greens are in the best condition on the course, good layout for most golfers, tees are available for different handicaps.

Overall a very nice and enjoyable round of golf. Pace of play was great, and course conditions were very good. Some long par 3s and other challenging aspects. Would for sure play here again.

Teed off at 3:30. When we got to the halfway house for Gatorade, the halfway house was closed and it was hot out. We’ll know better next time.

We play Deerpath several times a year. The layout is unique and interesting, the conditions are good, and the vibe is comfortable. Brutal heat kept the course uncrowded and allowed us to play as a twosome, quickly but not rushed.

Good layout. Challenging greens. Just enough trouble

We play Deerpath a few times a year as one of several solid munis in this area. It always requires thinking and accuracy, with overhanging trees and doglegs affecting tee shots and very small greens. Many munis in the area have mediocre sand, but this was really bad. It seemed like the grounds crew hasn’t even raked the bunkers all spring. They’re completely unkempt dry crumbles.

Unfriendly staff. Poor conditions .
