My favorite 9 hole golf course
The first time my wife and I played Sugar Creek we were wowed by its beauty and conditioning. It’s a hidden gem! We recently drove nearly 20 miles to play it again. It’s definitely worth the drive. It’s incredibly well manicured, has a nice layout, and is very green and lush. With 5 par 4’s and 4 par 3’s it’s user friendly for golfers of any ability. There is just the right amount of water, sand, and trees, and the bunkers are well-maintained.
But what really sets this course above the rest is the greens! They are fast! And sloped! And tough to read! These greens are country club quality. If you play 9 you will want to stick around for more!
The only knock on the course is the lack of a bar/restaurant. Cold beer, energy and soft drinks, and water are available.
If you try Sugar Creek you will like it! Guaranteed!
Local Gem
This is probably the course I have played the most in the last 25 years. It has always stood out in comparison to other 9 hole courses in the area. Well maintained, great staff and conveniently located. Greens were in unbelievable shape today. Weather was perf.
Bring a lunch
The last three times I went we were behind a group of five players each time, it took almost three hours to play 9 holes, on a course with four par threes
Hidden gem
Great little course with lots of hazards to work around. Immaculately groomed and friendly inviting staff.
Longest 9 hole Play/Wait
Beautiful course, well kept. Beautiful day! Waited 15 minutes after Tee time to Tee Off. Took 2 hours and 35 minutes to play 9 holes. Pace of Play printed on scorecard is 2 hours and 5 minutes. No ranger on course to enforce pace of play and denial from clubhouse that there were any problems with pace of play.

Slow overpriced golf
We got stuck behind some really slow players and we didn’t even finish 9 holes. In about an hour we managed to get in about two holes because of the back up on the tee boxes. If your looking to play some nice course at a normal place this is definitely not the course to go to, if your a beginner that is just trying out the sport then this is the right course.

Difficult greens with all of the different slopes
Just a great local golf course and the staff is fantastic from the ground crews to the golf pro, Cory.
