A One of A Kind Hidden Gem
Course was one of only three courses designed by Harry Snead. I have played two of them and this courses closing was a huge loss. Loved the built up greens that were like Langford and Moreau’s.
The greens were the highlight of the course. The back 9 was routed through a flood plain that was a problem after heavy rains.
nice course with weather damaged conditions
Unfortunately, this course has suffered severe flooding the day we played. I don't know how long it has been this way but it was unplayable. Huge ponds in the fairways made it impossible to find good shots. The greens were acceptable but again, if you can't find your ball in a lake in the middle of the fairway, what's the point?
I would call the course for an update on conditions before playing.
Good course for money
The grounds needed a little work... Even the fairways were a little too long. However I love the settings on this course.
Worth the drive to play the course
I have been playing this beautifully laid out course for about 30 years now. Always a neat experience to go over there and play.... About a 35 minute drive, but well worth the drive!
A wonderful vintage Course
With this course opening 85 years ago it has with stood the test of time. With the white tees playing at just over 6000 yards it overs a variety of challenges. I have played this course on and off for over 30 years. It was in the best shape that I have seen it for a vary long time. It really takes you back to how the early courses were built with the use of the natural layout of the land. It was truely a fun day!!!!
Good course
I enjoy playing LaFontaine golf course. It's easy enough with the right amount of challenges to keep my attention.
SHort shot makers course
Fairways barely distinguished from rough. Greens is very good shape. Nice piece of ground that just needs a little more attention to fairways. Also a little overpriced for area.
pretty course. natural settings blend with the housing community.
fun course, not too long. Friendly staff but the cart paths were a bit rough.
