Really...still open?
The Lafayette muni course is flooded over as often as it is open. The course is set in a flood plane next to the wabash river. There has been a lot of talk about closing this location and moving the city course to another, or buying another (rumors are that Battleground could be the new site).
Normally around the area spring is the best time to play if you want lush fairways and greens, however, the Laf Muni does not offer this same calendar expectation. Laf muni floods completely over, all the way up to the parking lot at times! If the flooding is this bad it is likely the grass will die, even despite Purdue agricultural and turf specialists attempts to provide a grass that can withstand this abuse.
I have played this course and really enjoyed it, but I have also been out a couple of weeks after a flood and regretted my decision to play.
Save your self the gamble, go play Battleground.
