Sugar Ridge Golf Club
About
One half of Sugar Ridge Golf Club is situated in extreme southwestern Ohio while the other half winds up into the Indiana hills. The border location may be unconventional but the setting provides a dramatic backdrop. The course sprawls across rolling hills that are abundant with wildlife. Wild turkey and deer have been known to roam the golf course. The layout has a few parallel fairways though the trees, and hills give each hole a completely secluded feel. The back nine feels more open than the front, but that may only be because of the ponds and lakes that come into play on many of the holes. Throughout Sugar Ridge Golf Club, golfers will find that the par 3s are fairly straightforward and the par 5s have sloping, uphill fairways that make them feel even longer. There are a few memorable par 4s, notable for both their scenery and level of difficulty.

Really enjoy this course! The visuals on this course with the rolling hills are wonderful. Regardless of which tees you play it's a challenge. If I had a wish list of improvements, it would be that they roll the greens to speed them up and get rid of quack-grass from tee boxes. I'll keep going back even though it's a 90 minute drive to get there.
Brutal Pace of Play
Had to wait several minutes on every hole but #18 due to the course being very busy. Tee times were probably too tight and some golfers had poor pace of play, slowing everyone else down. Took almost 5.5 hours to golf 18 holes with a cart. Furthermore, we were interrupted after teeing off on Hole #12. A staff member informed us that a pair of league members were given special permission to play holes 12-17 directly in front of us. This slowed the pace of play even further and did not sit well with the four of us. We thought that we would branch out of Cincy and try a different course, but we may have ended up regretting that decision. In my opinion, that pace of play is not acceptable for $40.
Interesting Course
This is a fun course to play that has many interesting holes and elevation changes. On the down side, the course is very disjointed going from #7 to #8 and it is far away. There has been a lot of work put in to improve the course and hopefully the tee boxes will get worked on next...
First time
First time playing this golf course. Had amazing views and well conditioned greens staff was super friendly, only complaint is pace of play was a tad bit slow.
Very nice course
Sugar Ridge was a very unique golf course, they had some very nice bar for a good elevation change. Do you want to be a good ball striker and be able to control it whereas you have to place it in some narrow fairways
Best Greens in Cinti
Of the various courses I play, Sugar Ridge has the best greens. They all run fast, but are very well maintained. The rest of the course is well kept, but the greens are why I go back.
Always have loved this course, but they doubled their prices!
I have been playing at Sugar Ridge when is wasn't so well-known. Its a shorter course, but has plenty of risk/reward challenges. Beautiful views. Well-kept. I probably won't be playing here as often as the price has sky-rocketed.
Overbooked
Decent course, short with a good mix of tight and wider fairways. Greens could have been in better shape. The big issue is that we played on a Sunday and the course was horrifically overbooked, taking 3 hours to play the front nine and about 2.5 to play the back.
SLOW PLAY
I have played this course about a month ago and enjoyed it. But this time it seemed to be over booked. We ended up getting a rain check for the back 9 which was nice of the staff to allow. But it took us a little over 3 hours to play 9 for a twosome. There were several holes that had 3 or 4 groups waiting to tee off.
