excellent condition and some super golf holes of risk and reward.
Enjoyable and pretty much had course to ourselves at 9.15am.
Course was in great condition and pin placements were good.
A unique challenge
This is a very different course from what I am accustomed to playing. Usually I'll play courses cut into the woods, here almost all holes leave you completely exposed to very windy conditions. Tall fescue grass and deep bunkers are challenging. Furthermore the greens while large are very complex and a hard surface. The greens rolled fast so it required a lot of attention on approach shots and putts. Conversely the fairways are wide so putting a ball in play from the tee box wasn't an issue. Definitely the course was more demanding of your iron striking ability than your accuracy with a driver. Finally this course is long. I'll usually play around 6200 yards. The white tees leave you right at 6000 yards (short) and the blue tees sets you at 6600 yards. The extra yardage adds even more challenge as you're now looking at par 3 holes of 175 - 190 yards. If you're a very talented golfer the black pro tees will have you at over 7300 yards! After adjusting to the demands of the course I was pleased with my round. The course is in excellent condition and it was a fun to experience such a different course. I will definitely be back.
Great layout, tough greens.
Can't beat the $20 Hot Deal. Need to play the course at least once as local knowledge is important. A yardage book is in the cart, in place of no GPS; bring a rangefinder. The yardage book info is not enough for the 1st time player. Greens are tough and fast with serious undulations. Wind was a big factor. Driving range balls should be upgraded; they are a collection of used, any brand/any found balls with some old, worn out range balls. Practice putting green is big and in good shape. Since there are many bunkers on the course, A PRACTICE BUNKER IS NEEDED. Staff is friendly, came out to me at the driving range to introduce me to another single in the group. I did not get any negative vibes from playing as a 'Hot Deal'. Looking forward to playing again.
Good golf course
The course was in very good shape, and the greens ran true and quick. Only downside was a slow foursome that would not let a twosome play through. Course was one to revisit.
Great layout, but bunkers need much work. Greens were not cut and needed to be rolled.
Course needs a lot of attention from the bunkers being very poor condition. Most bunkers were wet and had not rained forever. Bunkers need more sand, might have an inch of sand then hardpan. Greens were not cut and very shaggy, they also needed to be rolled, very bumpy. Always takes a long time to play. No ranger. no starter.
Great track and challenging.
Outstanding golf course and amenities. Friendly and courteous staff. If you like Rock Hollow, you will enjoy this course as well. Same architect. Course is in great condition. Played as a foursome. Our pace of play was hindered by the number of single & twosomes we had to constantly let through. Wished the clubhouse had done a better job of pairing some of these groups together. Regardless, great course and have a strong desire to go back.
Must play
I have played Trophy club a few times, enjoying it more and more each time. Its a very challenging track, in great shape and the rates are incredibly cheap. If you are looking for a great place to play I recommend the Trophy Club!
great course great conditions
course was in excellent shape, wide fairways, smooth and fast greens, very enjoyable to play and challenging
This course is challenging but very good
Excellent time-great course-makes you work on your game.
Stay out of the heather!!
Solid course
Bunkers need a little of work, but the fairways and greens were great.
This course has a great layout.
This was my first time playing The Trophy Club. I had heard many good things about this course, all were found to be true after playing. The links layout was very nice with very few straight away fairways. The yardage books on the carts were very helpful especially with the number of bunkers in the fairways and around the greens. I must say, the most challenging aspect of the course is the greens. Most were very undulated with many having severe run off areas. The greens were not exceptionally fast, however holding them was still difficult at times. I look very forward to playing here again.
Great course
Challenging course, great layout, greens roll true.
Not the normal straight away holes. Plenty of elevation changes,
doglegs, several water hazards, bunkers, and some blind shots.
Will definitely be playing again soon.
Great Value
The only downside to this course was the pace of play. Our tee time was at 2pm and we didn't finish the round until a little after 7pm. This is the first time I've seen it this bad, but overall is a great course.
Love Trophy Club!
I usually get out to play Trophy Club once or twice a year. It never lets me down. If this course was in the city it would be easily a $80 course. If you have never got the chance to play be sure and make your way just up interstate 65 to this beautiful place. You will not be disappointed.
Great course
In great shape and greens were very fast. We played early to beat crowd.
Tour greens
The draw for me is the greens. While the course is well maintained and a great time, the greens are true and quick. There are a few spots on the 18th green where 3 or 4 putts of 100 might go in. It was proven yesterday. Always a good time and usually not very crowded during the week.
Amazing Golf
The layout and condition are what you would expect from a top course. The elevation changes and hazards will push you to play well. Will play this course again.
Favorite course in central indiana
For the money this course is fantastic. It is an open and challenging layout. Mostly links style on the front 9 and a mix of links and woods on the back. Beautiful to the eye and extremely challenging. Greens roll true and have more breaks than most other courses.
Love the greens!!
The Trophy Club is one of my favorite courses, will play again soon. Thanks.
A fast and challenging course
Course is in good shape, playing hard and fast, making balls much easier to bounce into fescue. Greens are fast and very challenging. Overall a great links layout to play. Wind is always a factor here even when it isn't that windy.
