Otter Creek Golf Course

Course was beautiful. Design, challenge, everything above. I was playing by myself and two local players allowed me to play through. 2 hours and 45 minutes, perfect.

Only complaint was the divot marks on greens which can be easily fixed by all players on course. Great round of golf

Great shape although the greens are a little slow, but it’s been super hot lately so it’s probably healthier for the grass. Pace of play is good. I’ve only played it a few times so there is sometimes water where you can’t see it over a hill. The houses are generally not in play.

I was not informed at check in that the back 9 was closed due to heavy rain over the weekend. I did not find out until the starter told me. Sand traps were mostly full of water and none were playable. They could and should have been pumped out by Monday afternoon. A couple of large low lying areas were black from standing water. Disappointing for the conditions I would expect for course like Otter Creek.

Course was in great shape. 90° rule didn't hurt pace.

My first round since moving to Ankeny IA. I really enjoyed my round. Nice course, some really great views. Several of the par 3 tee boxes were a little rough… they should rotate positions more often. Overall course conditions were good. Booked through Golf now, “hot deal” so prepaid. Friendly staff, two out of three… starter 👍🏼, bar area 👍🏼, check in counter 👎🏻, (he didn’t want to answer any questions… just kept saying, go see the starter). I’ll definitely play here again. Lots of opportunities to score.

Got rained out after 12 holes but enjoyed the golf we got. Windy day.
