Always a pleasure to play Stone Creek
Course was in great condition, first person off the tee to enjoy the course and the nice day.
Beautiful course.
This is a great course. Set up for fun and challenging as well. Clubhouse is beautiful as well. For the value you cannot beat this. Love the grass.
Great course
Great course! Fast fairways and friendly staff. Well maintained.
This is a magnificent course , we had a great time.definitely will return
Best 9 hole course in Iowa
Course is always in great shape and the staff is very friendly
Better than the Hype
we had heard a lot of rave comments about Stone Creek and it turned out the course was even better...my home course is a small town track but Stone Creek was like a championship course in a small town...fairways were bent grass and perfect...greens were interesting..some nice variety of holes..and...we played on a Sunday morning with hardly anyone on the course
Nice!
They need to offer a few 18 hole deals , not just 9.
Otherwise great mix of holes and great condition.
Always a golf course, but...
Stone Creek is one of the best 9-hole courses in Iowa, if not the best.
But, when I played it today, it was lacking in a few spots. First, the bunkers. They were almost unplayable and hadn’t been touched in weeks. It was disappointing. Second, the person working in the clubhouse was not wearing a mask. I was surprised, because most courses I play on a regular basis require everyone to wear one right now.
Best 9-hole course in the state
Course was in immaculate shape, greens rolled smooth, fast, and true. Great layout.
Hidden Gem
Beautiful course with excellent design features.
Course was a little soft, but green and well maintained.
Well worth a visit. Greens rolled true.
Wonderful 9 hole course, that can play as 18
Played white first nine, then black second nine. Very playable and greens are awesome and tough. Loved it.
A 9 Hole Gem
Stone Creek is often lauded as one of the best 9 hole facilities in Iowa. After playing it, I agree with this assessment.
Stone Creek has the feel of a mini TPC Deere Run, which isn't surprising given they share an architect. There are a few blind shots, but mostly Stone Creek is "right in front of you" to borrow a phrase from the PGA Tour. The layout moves naturally along the gently sloping property, and is very walkable.
The condition of the course shines. The bent grass fairways are immaculate, and the bent grass greens roll true with some speed. The course was quite wet after overnight rains, but it seems to have drained well, and the greens still putted true.
If you play it as an 18 hole round, you'll see a difference in how the 1st and 10th holes are played, with 1 being a medium length par 5 and 10 being a long par 4. I liked this variety and would like to see more of it on the property.
The clubhouse is nice and seems like it would be a fun place to relax with friends after the round. Overall, Stone Creek really seems to have a good thing going with both the golf course and the amenities. Definitely a must play if you're in the Williamsburg, IA area.
My favorite hole is the par 5 6th hole. You're greeted with the widest fairway on the course, then left with a blind second to layup, or even take a crack at the green in two. Definitely a really fun hole!
