Always a golf course, but...
Stone Creek is one of the best 9-hole courses in Iowa, if not the best.
But, when I played it today, it was lacking in a few spots. First, the bunkers. They were almost unplayable and hadn’t been touched in weeks. It was disappointing. Second, the person working in the clubhouse was not wearing a mask. I was surprised, because most courses I play on a regular basis require everyone to wear one right now.
Challenging 9 holes
Greens were being worked on after recent outing.....aerated 6th and 9th holes so no chance to putt....just laid up short no problems on both par 5’s. Clubhouse called me while en route to let me know which was appreciated .....still wanted to play anyway. Each hole is definitely a challenge and fun track....country club style grass and feel in small town. I’d like to go back in fall when cooler and course in top shape.
Best 9-hole course in the state
Course was in immaculate shape, greens rolled smooth, fast, and true. Great layout.
Hidden Gem
Beautiful course with excellent design features.
Course was a little soft, but green and well maintained.
Well worth a visit. Greens rolled true.
Wonderful 9 hole course, that can play as 18
Played white first nine, then black second nine. Very playable and greens are awesome and tough. Loved it.
A 9 Hole Gem
Stone Creek is often lauded as one of the best 9 hole facilities in Iowa. After playing it, I agree with this assessment.
Stone Creek has the feel of a mini TPC Deere Run, which isn't surprising given they share an architect. There are a few blind shots, but mostly Stone Creek is "right in front of you" to borrow a phrase from the PGA Tour. The layout moves naturally along the gently sloping property, and is very walkable.
The condition of the course shines. The bent grass fairways are immaculate, and the bent grass greens roll true with some speed. The course was quite wet after overnight rains, but it seems to have drained well, and the greens still putted true.
If you play it as an 18 hole round, you'll see a difference in how the 1st and 10th holes are played, with 1 being a medium length par 5 and 10 being a long par 4. I liked this variety and would like to see more of it on the property.
The clubhouse is nice and seems like it would be a fun place to relax with friends after the round. Overall, Stone Creek really seems to have a good thing going with both the golf course and the amenities. Definitely a must play if you're in the Williamsburg, IA area.
My favorite hole is the par 5 6th hole. You're greeted with the widest fairway on the course, then left with a blind second to layup, or even take a crack at the green in two. Definitely a really fun hole!

Always a Wonderful Experience!
Great conditions, very playable. This continues to be one of Iowa’s true gems.
Course in Good Condition, Leaves Under Control
Very enjoyable round of golf for late October in Iowa. Course was in very good condition. They're continued to water fairways and greens , course was freshly mowed, and fall leaves were not a problem at all.
Beautiful course, in great shape
Beautiful course, fun layout as challenging as you like depending on which tees played. Great condition, wonderful greens
Beautiful track that never disappoints!!!
While a bit wet (Cart path only) thanks to excessive late summer rains last week, this was still another fabulous round of golf on Iowa's BEST none hole golf course. Forget that this course is only nine holes this is a MUST play!
Kudos to the grounds crew for overcoming a near disaster last week!!
Great track hidden gem
I'm a member at Stone Creek. I would recommend this course to anyone who hasn't had a chance to play it. This hidden gem is well maintained and worth your trip!
great 9 hole coure
Best nine hole course I have ever played and the discount fee made it the best value too. High quality layout, by same architect who did John Deere. I love this course, too bad you cant play on weekends as it is members only then. YOu play nine holes twice but the varied layout does not make it boring. Must play it !
Excellent course
The course was in excellent condition! The greens are lightening fast, so pay attention to the sliders downhill. Looking forward to the next time!
Always Fun to Play
I enjoy playing this course. It is worth a 90 minute drive a couple of times each year.
Good pace of play on this 9 hole course. A good challenge from the back tees. Greens are typically among the fastest I'll play all year.
Hidden gem in Eastern Iowa!
This little gem NEVER disappoints. The course conditions are as good as any course in the state including the major CCs. Heavy rains slowed the greens, but they were in great condition. Traps need help, but again I attribute that to rain. Love the new clubhouse look. New owners are very friendly and appear genuinely committed to making this a destination in Eastern Iowa.
Early April conditions
It's been a lingering winter. The course was in good shape considering we had snow a week earlier. Looking forward to the next time I'm down here.
