Used to me nice
Track layout was pedestrian to start nothing crazy. Started to challenge on the back nine. This is a “country course” as I call it. Looks like it was really nice 20 years ago but not enough maintenance… Fairways are basically low cut rough. Cart paths are ragged… no ball cleaners… Carts are dated…. Would I play again? Yes… just not at that price point… perhaps a hot rate…. Would practice here but would.n bring anyone………without a disclaimer
Challenging hidden gem
Following the contour of the land creates several sloped fairways and shoots that require planning. I was without any course knowledge and it cost about 3 strokes on thr round hitting the wrong side on Fairways and getting stuck behind fairway trees for approach. I joined three regulars for an enjoyable front nine.
Greens were good with some rough fairway in places. Thos course will challenge you. I'll be back.
Worth what I paid
Other than the atrocious cart paths that need a lot of attention, the course was in decent shape and I was able to play all 18 holes in a little over 2 1/2 hours. I would play here again without question.
The pace of play was brutally slow. The
fairways were not in good condition. Lots of weeds and bare places with no grass. The tees are all elevated for water run off, but it made it soooo difficult to stay on the green with a decent approach shot.
Enjoyed playing here!
This was my first time playing this course in two years. The course is a challenging layout with deceptively fast greens. Nice elevation changes and a surprising amount of water to keep in consideration. Good value and great place to play.
Course for practice
The pro shop rep was great. The course wasn't in the best of shape, especially the cart paths (lots of deep potholes) but playable. I did like the layout and once you get going it's great. The greens are close to healing from aeration and weed free.
My particular golf cart was hard to start throughout the round, reminded me of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang...
Still if you want to hone in some skills this is the place to come.
Back in the woods
Nice layout, wish 4some would have let a single play through.
Save your money
Course was not in good condition at all. Fairways had almost no grass and greens were full of weeds and poanna. At one time it may have been a fairly nice course. It was obvious no money has spent there on course in a long time. Cart paths were undrivable.
Very Enjoyable Round
I was visiting Louisville with my wife. She was at a small convention and I was going to play golf Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday I played The Crossings and had a very enjoyable day. I arrived at the course over an hour before my tee time, and the counter guy was really nice and let me go off the back by myselt earlier than my tee time. I had a few surprises on the back because I did not know the course. When I made the turn to play the front, I hooked up with a twosome that played there often. Overall the course was a lot better that some of the bad reviews I read about this course. The twosome I played with told me it was built as a country club in the 80's. Then went bankrupt and has had a few owners since. If you are looking for a pristine golf course, this is not for you. But if you are looking for a good value and some challenging holes and pretty nice greens, you will enjoy The Crossings.
