This course has improved
I played this course about 5 years ago and was severely disappointed in the shape the course was in. I decided to give it another shot through golfnow and was pleased with the improvement. It is not the best course, but you are not paying for the best. For the money you pay, it is compareable to any other course.
Forgiving if you miss the fairways, requires a lot of attention
Good course for beginners, greens had weeds growing on them, needs a lot of attention. Very forgiving though if you don't hit a lot of fairways
this course needs some work
The course was fun to play. The course needed some attention.
Conditions
fairways have a lot of johnson grass in them, greens were ok, could be mowed
gs
The course is a forgiving layout on the front nine. The fairways and second cut grass are the same length. The greens are very hairy and slow. It is a fun little course to play with friends that have a high handicap.
Good course for the money. Nice value
I found this course very nice for the money. I paid $23.00 on a Saturday morning 18. Not real hard, but challenging enough for the average golfer. Not quite sure why it isn't busier. We finished in 3 hours. I'll be coming back.
Dangerous and very slow play.
Many fairways side by side. I have never heard so many people shout fore in my life. Fairways are mostly weeds. The slow play was excruciating.
Good value for the money
The course is better than average. Holes are straight and plenty of room to recover from a bad shot on most holes. Greens were decent and good sized, but felt mushy to walk on. They offer a Par Card that once you pay for 8 rounds of nine holes, the ninth round is free which is a good deal. I would recommend it as a practice round or if eveyone else in south Louisville is booked and you just have to play golf somewhere. Overall was a good value and I will play there again.
Price reflects quality
A run down course that needs major attention.
The price reflects the course conditions, The greens were in good shape considering what the rest of the course looked like.
This course is a great value for the money.
Played Maplehurst Golf Course on Thursday. Fair crowd and the play moved steadily. For a short course (approx 6000+ yds), very challenging. Lots of water on the front nine and lots of trees on the back side. Course was in good condition, greens putted well and rough was cut down so it was easy to find your ball if you missed the fairway. Fairways were evenly cut and for the most part got a good lie. I've played this course before and it's in better condition than I've ever seen it. Water available throughout the course and ball and club washers available on almost every hole. A great value, I'll be back.
staff seemed put out for using golfnow.com
Not friendly when I arrived and said they don't make any money from golfnow.
its only May, and the greens are in bad shape.
Price good, lots of water challenges, no sand traps, poor green condition.
paid for 18 left at 9
My wife and I went to Maplehurst this last Wens. We had never played this course and we like trying differant courses as possible. I have played 25 plus courses in the Louisville area and this is the worst kept course I have played on. I understand that it is early in the year and courses need time to get in shape but this was past that. My lawn is in better shape than the fairways. My wife and I lost at least 6 balls on the fairway because it was like you were in the rough. I will say the putting surfaces were if fair shape but that was it. We actually left after 9 holes as it was no fun.
klb good little course.
the course is small but still a challenge if you are not in the fairway as you should be. people complain about not locating there ball in the rough but that is part of the game. looks easy but if you play legal golf then its not so easy. foot wedge players. or those of you who move around a tree. had fun as always.
