65 degrees in January
It rained the entire night before. We tees off at 11:30 and the course was in great condition for the middle of January in Maryland. Staff was great and the course played very well. If you have the chance play this course it’s fun
Cold frozen ground
Not much too say nice course challenging but fair . Ground was frozen but I expected that . Balls just bounced off greens .it got warmer on the back nine so it helped thaw out . All in all good day
First timer
Great pace of play only two complaints the tees were the worse like playing from my front lawn and our cart was to slow sometimes we could't get up the hills. Will come back when the tees are ready to play like real tees should be not like my front yard.
Nice course
1st time playing and overall it was a good course. With that being said there were some things that could have been better. The grass on the tees were very high. Not a big issue with driver but if trying to hit 3 wood through irons, you almost had to play for a flyer lie since the grass would be between the ball and clubface. Fairways could have been shorter but not as bad as tees. They emphasize ball mark repair and it must work because there were very few old brown ball marks. Good job. Course not tricked up but if you play from the blues it’s a long front 9. Much shorter back. Early start 2 some so got through in 3hrs. Great finishing hole. Add some crosswind and it’s very difficult.
Awkward
Multiple times ( more than 5) we would be chipping up to the greens and there would be an employee just standing in the middle of the green watering it with a hose stretched across the whole thing. Or an employee randomly fixing divots while your putting. Once we were in the fairway and an employee drove his work cart through the center of the fairway dragging behind him a 100' hose while a colleague was in the middle of his back swing all while despite being told it was cart path only... Just an odd display of unprofessionalism.
I thought I saw everything.....
Never have I ever seen the display put on by an owner before. Instead of being apologetic, he ended up getting in a yelling match with one of our threesomes. on the back nine they were watering the greens while we were trying to hit up onto them.
So there hoses were in the way and the ground crew just kept watering away.
Owner say he would reimburse what we payed to play. I'm going to call golfnow on that one. Very disappointed in the grown crews conduct.
Great local track
You can tell when a course is cared for when the improvements can be seen...friendliness of staff, greens, visible marshall, course maintenance to name a few has taken place or in the midst of. This is great local track and recommended for those just over the state line. One last improvement... the new carts have arrived! They are on their way ti earning 5 Stars.
Plays well with some nice greens
This course had a pretty nice layout with a few tough water shots. The fairways were pretty well and the greens were good. Some greens were huge, some were pretty thin. The pace of play was the only downfall as we consistently had to wait at the tee box for the groups ahead of us. Overall, it took long, but was a nice course.
Just OK for the money
Went off early as a twosome behind a twosome so pace was great. Course was in good condition with a few holes CPO. The price is a little steep for where and what it is ... $57 .. That all being said had a decent day.
The Wetlands
The staff was great! However the tee boxes where in bad shape and the greens fuzzy. It is a very interesting course and has some really nice golf holes. Lots of forced carries and water on several holes come into play. I have played this course many time in the past and don't recall seeing the course in this bad of a shape.
3.5 stars
First time in a couple years playing here. Very hot and humid. Water coolers are on the course and full at 1pm. Conditions were above average and I could see work being done to the places that needed it. Greens got faster as the day got hotter. A couple dog legs, a couple blind tee shots, a little bit of water. About an hour away for me but I’ll always get down there at least once a year. Worth it and recommend.
Great day
This is our go to course and always enjoy ourselves. Today was very busy but managed very well by the staff. Will definitely be back!
