Fun course
Great for all levels of golfers. Older style, fairways are not the greatest but greens were fair but slow.
Nice surprise with challenges
Nice length, challenging greens, sidehills, pretty vistas. First time playing as Deep Creek visitors. Course was more challenging than expected (4 handicapper). Wide landing areas but lots of side fall offs if off target. Weird variety of green sizes from extremely small to large - almost like some holes were added at some point to an original course. Will definitely return of in the area again. Nice little bar and grill on back of clubhouse.
Nice course. DANGEROUS carts. Slow play. Wonky layout. Overpriced.
Never played the course before. Was in the area on a vacation. I was able to get a decent deal on Golf now.
Regular price of $80 seems a bit steep for this place but I understand that you’re in a sort of “resort” town so… Most of the courses around here are actually rather expensive. In fact, this might even be the cheapest one!
The layout is certainly unique. The idea of having six part 5s and six part 3s and six part 4s might sound somewhat interesting but… In the end, I kind of found it annoying. (Call me a purist, I guess?)
By far, the worst thing is the pace of play. We had a couple groups ahead of us on the front nine that were ridiculously slow. The starter kept sending out twosomes and it just back things up. Two groups behind me actually quit before getting to number nine… One of them quit on whole number five.
Another thing that’s really worth noting… The hills are somewhat significant, and the carts are legitimately not great with their brakes Like… Seriously not good. And somewhat surprisingly the pro shop seems to be aware of this. They even gave me a heads up. What’s even weirder, is that the newer carts actually seem to be worse! Coming down the cartpath after hole five green, the pro actually warned me to be careful…. And I honestly was trying to be incredibly careful! And I almost flipped the cart! The brakes, just give out! It’s like you have to pump them or something… But it wasn’t just there… Anytime you were going down a hill on the course, there was no guarantee your car could stop. That’s insanity!
Oakland has upped it game!
The course was in great shape with greens very playable
Fun place
Not many golf courses in the area. So choices are limited. We enjoyed our time there. Course was kept up and in decent shape overall. The staff was very friendly. The Caddyshack Bar and Grill was a highlight. I would definitely go back.

Great course, play was a slow, but still a great day
Fairways
The fairways were long but other than that the course was great. Pace of play was decent. Staff was very pleasant.
Amazing staff
Everyone was very friendly. The range was nice and it was grass which I prefer. I love the ball and club washer on the cart.
The price for a round was $70 during peak time. I was curious if cheaper to use GolfNow app and it actually saved me $12 so the app was well worth it. I teed off at 1:30 and it was very hot and muggy. In the 90s and to my dismay there were no water stations or even coolers on the course which to me is unacceptable for a $70 course. They did offer to walk up to the bar and I could fill my yeti but I said I’ll just purchase a few waters. I ended up buying 6 bottles of water and spent $12 on the water that should have been available on the course.
The course was in super rough shape. The greens were very spongy and super slow. They looked nice but just not what I expected. The layout was pretty much just open with a few bunkers here and there. Not very challenging
The 2nd cut of fairway was so long that I lost a few balls.
This would be worth $40-45 based on condition and lack of on course amenities.
Post-rain bust
Played a day or so after a heavy rain so we expected it to be wet in places. As it turned out, most of the fairway was not short grass, which meant that every shot felt like a shot out of the wet rough. I lost about 8 balls that should have been findable in the fairway. We ended up quitting after 14 because with CPO in place, this resulted in what would have been a 5.5 hour round and probably 20,000 steps (with a cart) made up mostly of searching unsuccessfully for your ball.
