Clown
Play here all the time the guy that wrote the review about Dave being a angry guy is a clown dave and all the staff is great you deal with a full tee sheet of jokers like u all day everyday then we will see. Course in fantastic shape for amount of play it gets fantastic job grounds crew.
Cart confusion
Whatever deal I booked through Golfpass was not honored at the course. I paid for 18 holes and a cart, but was instructed to pay an extra $10 to have a cart of my own or ride with another player. Either the golf course was trying to pull a fast one and milk another $10 out of me or Golfpass did not clearly work out the details with the golf course.
The staff was confused about it too. The starter told me to pay up or ride with the other golfer, but the guy in the pro shop didn't mention anything to me. Although I was told later the pro shop was also charging an extra $10. The ranger said he didn't think it was fair and apologized to me.
Try to figure out the confusion so it doesn't happen again to any other golfers.
Sunday golf
The course was in fine condition, the pace was fine. It was a lovely day for walking 18.
Dave
Dave in the pro shop was the rudest starter I e ever encountered. In an ok’d angry white mans world, that is really saying a lot. He should be fired immediately.
One of the better Muni's in Boston
This is a great muni.
Pros:
-This place and everyone who goes here is quintessential Braintree/Boston, what an experience. Just feels like a muni
-Conditions are EXTREMELY good, barely any divots in the fairway, greens rolling at a good speed and in great shape.
-Nice variation of holes for the par 4's and 5's
-Challenging without being excessively long. If you're wild off the tee, bring a lot of balls.
-You can find walking rates for 10 bucks....you are not going to find a better value anywhere 30 mins from the center of the city.
Cons:
- Some of the par 3's are a little repetitive but the green on the par 3 3rd is lethal. Not a huge fan of the 18th hole either, all side hill lies no matter how good your tee shot is.
-In the fall months or if its wet, this place does not drain well at all. If its been raining expect to get plugged at least once because the fariways get really really soft.
Braintree
I have played here many times and the course is currently in fine shape .
As it was a coolish Monday AM the course was not crowded and we moved right along.
The pro shop staff does a great job, dealing in with folks in a timely and friendly manner.
The cafe has an excellent chixken salad sandwich . A good selection of local draft Brews to go along with the big brewery cans and a cool and comfy dining room
Great Shape Great pace
Very nice Greens and Fairways. Pace of play was very quick. Definitely Playing here again.
