Braintree Municipal Golf Course

Wide open fairways coupled with nice design made for enjoyable round.

Very nice course, very open on several holes & good distance.

Only draw back was pace.

Staff is very friendly. Decent value for it's proximity to Boston. Conditions were pretty good and the staff was out there doing their best. Should be stated that there's been a bad drought this year and MOST courses are having problems keeping fairways perfect. Pace of play could have been better. Don't forget to say hello to the goats on the right side of hole 7.

Played BT Municipal a few times now. It's a good course that has some really challenging holes (especially on the back 9). I've played now early in the morning (before 8) and later in the afternoon and the pace of play has been solid. The course doesn't drain very well and if its rained recently you're going to get plugged or will be hitting out of a marsh. Besides that the course is in really great shape for a municipal. Good value as well and its very walkable.

We were backed up all day on the Tee box and had about a hole and a half gap behind us. This wasn’t a problem for us nor did we care since we where out enjoying our round of golf at peak hours.

Once we got to the 10th hole we grabbed a beer at the snack shack and waited until we had enough room to tee off. Once there was efficient room we tee’d off and 2 of us went into the woods given the 1 1/2 hole gap behind us we decided to take our single mulligan on the day to get a ball in play. The ranger immediately drove up to us saying we cannot do this and we are holding up the golf. The facts were this couldn’t be more untrue as we had a huge gap behind us. He continued to yell at us and threatened to kick us off the course so reluctantly we accepted his authority and rushed along up to our balls were we proceeded to wait another 10 minutes. We then finished the hole and waited 15 minutes backed up at the tee box and still no one had tee’d off at the 10th.

Moral of the story the ranger needs to worry about the people actually holding up pace or play rather than direct his anger and aggravations at anyone he can find.

Great round, had a 5:30 tee time and got nine in before sun went down. Lots of people out there but moved quick enough!

Had 1:20 tee time. We arrived and the course was already behind on start times. They need rangers to speed up play. inexperienced golfers don’t repair ball marks and don’t know ready golf!

Course is well maintained, large well groomed greens. It was my second time playing this course. Looking forward to play it again. I highly recommend this course.

Course was in great shape. Very surprising for a municipal course. They take great care of it. Course is pretty flSt with very large greens. Definitely give it a try if you haven’t yet.
