Merrimack Valley Golf Club

Played this with a friend of mine who lives near Derry, NH and it was awful. Pace of play was the slowest I've ever experienced and I'm not usually a fast player. The course was in overall poor condition compared to other courses in the area. Greens were in good shape, but the fairways were dry as a bone and the ball ran for days. Pace of play was really what killed this course for me. We had a foursome in front of us that was playing like they were the only people on the course and when they left after the front nine, the starter decided to put another foursome right in front of us on the back 9 and they were all walking. We left after 9 even though we paid for 18 because it was just so bad.

First, the course has suffered tremendously from the hot weather we’ve had the last couple of weeks. You won’t recognize the course of you’ve played here a month or two ago. Second, and more importantly, the guy in charge of handling the pace of play is a joke! We (group of four in carts) waited on every single hole at least 10-15 minutes because the groups in front of us were soooo slow. We knew the group in front of us would leave after the first 9, so we expected the pace to improve. However, they put another group of three WALKING kids in front of us once we reached the club house. We almost lost it… so we decided to part ways with Merrimack for good. On the way out, the gentleman/staff outside asked why we were leaving to which we replied that the course is ridiculously backed up and that they just made it even worse… his response: well, if you decide to want it to call it a day?! ARE YOU SERIOUS? No, YOU called it a day for us! WORST EXPERIENCE I’VE EVER HAD ON A COURSE!!!

Great course layout - forgiving for a long dormant player. Nice fairways, solid greens and very walkable

A great course to fall back in love with the game I love. Challenging set up, well maintained, super friendly staff and just a perfect day. Walked the back 9 and played in an hour 45.

We played at 630 am and a lot of workers were still out, but they are doing a great job keeping the course looking good. Friendly staff, some challenging holes. I also hit my first and only hole in one here on the 9th hole.

Being a Donald Ross course, it’s a links course with plenty of ups and downs. Absolutely loved the view and will definitely play again.

She came around on the 2nd hole when we obv didn't need anything then was nowhere to be found the rest of the round.

Arriving at 10th hole we were told we would have to wait for all of the men"s league players to tee off before we could tee off. Looked like we would have to wait well over an hour so we left very disappointed.

Very nice staff! Nice shape challenging only thing is the green speed little slow
