As Close to Perfection As You Can Get
Course is a must play for the golf enthusiast! Course has it all strategic design, solid routing, scenic views of the water / bay on several holes and perfect conditions.
Course can be expensive during the high season, but it is not to be missed.
Farm Neck is a hidden gem
Course was in great shape. It is a challenging layout which offers several intriguing risk-reward shots. Last time I played, the wind was blowing and the course played very difficult. Pace of play was fine - I played in 4 hours. Obama and his foursome were two groups behind me. Several holes are on the water and make a great scenic backdrop.
Several of the par-5s are reachable for long hitters. The greens are rather large but you need to hit it close in that the greens have several undulations to them and it is difficult to find a flat putt from more than 10 feet.
In all, one of the finest courses I have played.
The staff is incredibly friendly.
Perfect Day of Golf!
Didn’t get better than playing a great golf course, in perfect condition with spectacular views AND see Pres. Obama on range and tee off on #1. Wow! What a fantastic day. Loved the layout. Tough course, especially if wind is blowing which I assume it almost always is. Yes, pricey, but what do you expect from only 18 hole choice on MV. Definitely worth playing.

The Neck is a great course. Water views, challenging holes, great mix of dog legs, water etc. I played in August about 5 times and I played September and July as well. Will be playing again this Columbus day weekend. I have played better courses for less money but scenically speaking g it is really awesome. Bottom line is it is pricey and being on MV they have you. So if you want to play you have to pay. Staff was super friendly. Shook Obama's hand on one if the 4 days I saw him out there. What I enjoy is the challenge the course presents from rou d to round. One day you can go pin hunting and the next there could be 30 mph winds and your fighting to keep the ball in play. From Spike Lee's New York Yankee banner on the 17th hole or the views from Sengenkentaket pond this course doesn't disappoint
Worst staff ever, course has nice views, overrated though
Farm Neck is the most over rated course on MV or anywhere else for that matter. They totally over charge and you get zero customer service for the money. The course has some unbelievable views and some amazing holes; water views etc.. But the conditions were not worth the dough and the greens were slow and hairy. But what really makes this a bust is the staff. They treat you like second class citizens. They forget who is paying and how to treat guests. Having played this course for many many years I have witnessed its demise and the staff arrogance increase. Unless your Obama, don't waste your money. ($70.00 was shoulder season after 3:30!)
Best course on the east coast no one knows about
So Obama may have made Farm Neck popular but this course is really a hidden gem. Pro shop and clubhouse is understated but very clean and welcoming. The layout is awesome. Great mix of holes, doglegs, well placed fairway bunkers, etc. Multiple holes have legit water views and there are multiple ponds that are in play.
Course is not long but the challenge is the wind. It is only 6300 from the blue tees but if the wind gets up that plays more like 6900. Hole 14 might be the best short par 4 in New England. Hole 18 is just what a finishing hole should be. A par 5 that you can reach in two if you challenge the OB.
Staff was friendly but not overly so. Don't expect a "member for the day" experience but we were treated very well by the staff. My only beef was how much OB there was on the course. It didn't effect us since we played everything as a lateral hazard, as the rule should be! But if you were playing a tourney or with a rule stickler the OB could lead to some galacial rounds I would imagine.
big money for what you get
Was there for 2 days and for the money I was very disappointed. Rangers were constant even though we were 10 minutes ahead of pace in their yardage book. Waste of money and a weak layout. They can charge what they can charge because of island. Better courses are a short ferry ride away at much better values. As the Raven once said " Never more"
Enhance Your Vacation!
Course is an oasis on the quaint island of Martha's Vineyard. Very scenic, very green with an occasional
sighting of deer. Course offers many challenging holes, with water, slopes and sand traps. Good challenge for an intermediate--advanced golfer.
Great Retreat
If you want a challenge and enjoy playing a golf course that has water views, then this is a course for you. Nestled on the Martha's Vineyard, it provides a great mix of holes carved through trees as well as opens up to the wind off the water.
