Most fairways narrow and short lost balls in fairways

Rather than write a review, the note I wrote to my son after our round should do...

We were really impressed with Quail Hollow and not just because it cost us less than $30 (cart included). It's a fun layout and at barely 6000 yards, the course is short but challenging - more difficult than (our home course) and 1000% better maintained. It is surprisingly well-manicured; fairways and bunkers in very good shape and well-groomed. Greens are fast and putt true. They even have 'weeded' flowerbeds and ornamental grasses scattered throughout.

If we weren't already booked at The Shattuck, I probably would try to convince you to make the 40 minute trip to Oakham!

I golf all over New England and can't remember another course in this price range that wasn't a 9 hole or in real bad shape. Quail was in pretty good shape, not a long course but challenging for the average golfer. Staff was extremely friendly. Cart paths are a little rough but overall well worth it. One of the better values in New England.

Always have fun playing this course. We'll maintained and challenging enough for a bogey golfer like me.

Discourse it's a good challenge as the fairways are tight and the layout is very close together. The only downside was of course fertilized or butterfly all over the course show me the hard to find your ball among the clumps.

Greens where in great condition.

First time out this year and had been to the course once previously. Most holes are not large par 4 or 5s yet frequently I pulled out my driver. I enjoyed this and also the fact that if I wanted to do some course management off the tee it gives plenty of opportunities. My choices often left me with odd yardage approach shots but again I used my driver frequently.

The major downside with this course is no water stops and no beer/drink cart during our visit. Again you could manage this with some foresight yet by the end of the round on a hot day we were more concerned with getting a Gatorade at the club house then our scores.

We had several elderly playing very slow, 5 hr round, no ranger, makes for a long day.

The course is good, greens are fast and rolling true, some quirky holes but a good challenge, short course.

Staff was extremely friendly and it was a great value. Can’t wait to play here again.
