Always fun
Even though WCC is short at just over 6,000 yds., the small fast greens and narrow fairways make for a fun challenge every time I'm here. Always think I'll have a shot of breaking that elusive 80, then walk away dejected (while smiling), with my 93 and tail between my legs! I recommend for any public golfer at any level.
There's Better
I was a little bit disappointed because of all the great reviews. Maybe the course is cut down a bit since its the beginning of the year, but its a very short/easy course. Conditions were average. The layout is probably my least favorite I've played in Boston, too many short, straight ahead, par 4's. No real teeth to the course at all. Fairway bunkers on some holes aren't even in play. Greens don't roll that fast, aren't protected by bunkers in the front and aren't elevated so you can run something on every hole. Reminded me of Unicorn, but Unicorn is less expensive. Would rather play Sandy Burr.
On a positive note: their cheeseburgers at the turn are dynamite, the staff is friendly and its very walkable.
Fun course
Played Wayland CC to celebrate my 400 th round of golf this year ! Had a great time and broke 90 !
Disappointing
Disappointing would be an understatement. I played with a couple who told me they had also signed up for 18 holes but because it was a late tee time and the people in front of us were too slow they wouldn’t be able to play all 18 and are gonna get credit for the back 9. They encouraged me to do the same. I returned my cart and went to the pro shop and they refused and were somewhat rude about it. Since I had no option I decided to go back but now they wouldn’t give me my cart either. They did give the other people credit. So not sure what the deal is with them.
What a treat.
Wow, what a great place to play. The course is wide open but still challenging with its fast greens, doglegs, and smartly placed hazards. Also, this course actually enforces its pace of play, a rare find this year. The amenities are also pretty awesome and the decked out carts are cool if a little nannyish. If you are looking for a change of pace from the super tight, tree lined fairways ubiquitous on New England courses then you should give this place a try!
Always great
Never have had a bad experience here. Well oiled machine. Can always depend on a good day
