Pleased
Course is in good shape.Reasonably priced.Pace of play was excellent.Layout was reasonably challenging.Abit tight off the tee but very playable
A quick 'knob' to this courses quality
Pun intended, but I don't think it landed. Right? Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend Pine Knob as a nice public course in the Detroit Metro area.
4.2/5 stars overall.
Overall, my wife and I thoroughly enjoy the course, staff, and carts and we make it a habit to play here at least once a year. Haven't tried their restaurant yet, so can't comment there.
The course can be a challenge if you don't know where it's going and enjoy an average pace of play - tee times are 10-min apart.
Even from the blues it's not terribly long and from the whites you'll find yourself hitting 3-wood or less off the tee for placement control. Greens were landing soft, cut a little longer than expected, and don't have any 'unmakeable' putts. Fairways are well kept, could use the sand/seed on the carts, and rough is, well, rough. Tee boxes for some holes could use some flattening and love.
I mentioned pace, weekend round we waited every hole even playing with the wives. Took ~5-hours. Such is golf nowadays I guess.
Go try it - if it creeps above $80/per round, there are stronger options in the area imo.
Slow
Had a group in front of us playing 6. Called club house twice and they did nothing. Ranger drove by and did nothing and said nothing. Took 5 hours to play!
Great course!
I haven’t played a course like that in a while. Course is on par with Florida courses and up north venue’s. Staff was very helpful and that makes it top notch in my book.
This was also a good value for sure for just 45 a 9 with a cart you can’t beat that on a Saturday in Oakland county. Fairways were well groomed and t boxes were in good shape as well not all dug up. Sand traps were also well cared for and greens were very challenging to say the least. I will definitely be golfing there again for sure!!
Beautiful and playable!
My favorite course so far after moving to Oxford in October and playing many in the area. Surroundings are stunning! Holes are very playable, even with challenging greens. Many holes are very secluded and private feeling. Neighborhood and homes around course are impressive. Interesting sculpted holes and beautiful course make it a great experience. Looking forward to coming back!
Great public course with greens in wonderful condition.
