nice early season round.
greens in terrific condition for the time of year. Fast and rolling nicely while receptive.
#1 tee
Always a challange if you play Blue or White Tee's. Number one Tee box still in same location as the fall. Need to move them back.I am 72 and can reach the green with a solid drive.8 and 9 on Eagle are a bit confusing. All though they play about the same yardage one is a par 5 and the other a 4. Also #7white tee on the Hawk Was back at 440. A bit much for recreational golfers.
Perfect March weather
Great day to be on the course, weather wise. The only issue we had was after the turn 2 golfers coming straight from their cars in the parking lot tried to sneak ahead of us on the Eagle. (The golf course was already packed.)
Beautiful course
Loved the course layout and scenery. Staff was friendly and accommodating. My only complaint was the amount of leaves made the course near unplayable. I know that is part of fall golf in Michigan, but losing multiple balls that were hit in the fairway due to the amount of leaves on the course is another level. Absolutely will be back to try the course again in the spring.
Pine Knob Falcon and Hawk
Have played pine Knob for Years. Both courses were leaf filled fairways and Greens. I didn’t see anybody blowing at either course. I understand it’s a challenge on a windy fall day this late but assumed Pine Knob would have the resources to do so.
Beautiful late fall round!
Course was in excellemt shape and the colors were beautiful. Greens are lightning fast. a few bumps from aeration but still nice. Staff was friendly and efficient as always. Weather was perfect. An awesome fall day!
Pace of Play
The pace of play was extremely slow. We waited on every hole and there were a few times when two groups were on the tee box waiting to hit. It was hard to get into a rhythm. This was the first time I have experienced this at Pine Knob. There was a single who was a day early for his time, so they let him go out in front of two foursomes.
The fairways and rough were in good condition. The greens were healing from recent aeration. Some were extremely slow and some were fast. We did book a great hot deal rate. I would recommend playing. The greens should be in better shape and more consistent in two weeks.
