Nobody at course...no carts!
We hooked for four golfers with carts. Arrived at the course to find nobody there. An honor system in place to walk only. We found another course to play, but I'm very disappointed!
STAY AWAY!
Possibly the worst course I have played in my life. They're not even trying to fake like they care. Trash littered throughout the course, fairways bumper than Flint roads, 6" rough, unplayable greens, and rude pro shop attendant. I fully understand it's fall golf, but this course should have a Going out or business sign. Please stay away.
Horrible shape
I have played here in the past and to be completely honest the place has fallen apart. There was trash everywhere on the course. The greens were torn apart making it hard to even putt straight. Tee boxes were torn up as well. Legitimately one of the worst experiences I have had golfing In a long time
First time
Tee boxes were bad. A lot of dirt, although fairways wasn’t bad. Biggest problem was the people behind us coming within 5-10 yards with their balls, course was a little backed up
Worst golf experience of the decade
A friend and I booked a tee time for 2:15 at this course. Once we started we quickly realized it was the worst course conditions I’ve played this year. Dead brown greens with spots that were the worst just buried in sand. Muddy ruts in most of the fairways and tee boxes so bad on par threes that you couldn’t even play your ball off of grass. We still didn’t complain and figured just play the round and get it over with. On hole 11 we start having groups randomly driving directly in front of us and teeing off from the women’s tees. Turns out women’s league starts at 5:15 with a shotgun start and they feel it’s necessary to get their practice holes in right in front of us. By hole 15 we’re 2 hrs and 45 minutes into our round and we’re told we’re getting booted off of the course because women’s league is teeing off from every hole at 5:15. Their solution to this problem that is completely on the course was to give us a rain check for 3 holes. Will never play here again.
So close to being great
Overall I enjoyed golfing here. The primary complaints I had were pace of play, the greens that were like putting on carpet, the overwhelming hordes of bugs, and the overall course layout. The group I was with caught up to the group ahead of us and there was a massive jam of several groups by the 4th hole. The greens were unbelievably soft and incredibly inconsistent, any pitch or chip ended with a deep mark on the green and often left the ball plugged. Regarding the layout, the fairways are extremely close together and every other hole we had another group on our fairway due to mishits. The fairways were well maintained for the most part and the holes offered unique challenges.
My yard looks better
I pulled into the parking lot thinking it was going to be a solid experience seeing that they have a nice big club house and an outdoor pool but boy was I wrong. The course layout is decent and tough at some spots but wow the track is bad shape. The greens were atrocious, worst I’ve ever seen. 75% of the course is dead or torn up in some capacity. Hopefully they can turn things around because it looked like it was a decent course at some point.
Average at best
Disappointed in course maintenance. Grass clippings blown all over fairway, no visible yardage markings, cart path a joke. Staff friendly enough. Won’t be returning!
Once proud Country Club
Sad to see another result of General Motors collapse. Used to work here 30 years ago, when it competed with the Flint Golf club. Heard the ownership lacks motivation after inheritance. Can't blame her when you don't have the traffic and the rates have to compete with better courses.
Flushing valley
Under construction on the greens but got a new crew and they are turning it around.
Great Value
The course was in excellent condition for late April. Greens were a bit slow but $25 for 18 holes was a steal!
Flushing Valley
Course is under new management with the grounds so the greens weren’t to good. But beautiful day and would go back
Another one let go
I can see why it’s cheap to golf there, greens really need some tlc, fwys are little rough and could use tlc as well, when you pull up you get like it use to be a members only vibe. I bet when this place first opened and this course was in its prime it was a fantastic course. it has potential to be a great course. lay out is good. some decent challenging holes. its like owner gave up on it and course went to crap. hope it improves I will play again in couple months
Courses fine but staff not so much
No one was at the proshop for my tee time, was late by 15 minutes. No water in any of the ball washers. Hit with a fee when I arrived so know it's actually $50ish bucks to play. Wont be coming back any time soon.
Terrible shape
Have played this course for many years have never seen it in such bad shape.
Unique course
Enjoyed the course and it's layout with the river.
Good value and challenging holes.
T boxes in poor shape. 2nd nine had poor conditions.
Nice course
Nice course, got busier in the afternoon with people who live on the course driving through fairways to get to where they were going. All good tho. Nice play, nice day.
Wow
I'll never play here again, it's the worst course in Genesee County. I would be embarrassed trying to collect $50-$60 to play 18. Everything is terrible!
