Nice old course
Course is in good shape and a pleasure to play. Possible to score well if you stay out of the creeks.
Soaked Course But Short and Playable
This is a nice shorter course that is very doable for those that can't hit super long drives. It's tighter and narrower than most newer courses, but it's also shorter which my wife especially appreciates. While the course did have one monster par 5 at over 575 yards for the men, most of the par 4 holes were 335 yards or under. For my wife, the par 4s were even more doable with many under 300 yards. The day we played the course, it was soaked with a lot of standing water in the fairways. We think we would enjoy playing this course again when it had a chance to dry out and didn't have standing water in the fairways and bunkers.
Livonia Courses
Even though we live in Lake Orion, Jen and I and friends try to play each of the Livonia Courses at least once a season. All of them are fair and in very good condition. Pace of play is always good. Today TWO OF US played in 2 Hours snd 45 min Great restaurant on the site as well.
Worth the trip.
Idylewyld
This is a good course to play. I played it on August 28, Saturday and thhe couurse is sin good condition.Than is considering we have had a lot of rain. This is the first time that I haave seen the ouurse with standing water in multiple locations and a couple of holes had the Tees relocated due to water or flooded fairways. Even given this the course was playable and still challenging.
A bit ridiculous to have a few groups holding up the pace of play on a weekend. Staff/rangers should be ensuring that groups of 6-8 aren't forming and causing backups on the course. Other than that, course is in decent shape and is a good value for the price.
Pace was too slow
Due to a lot of high school beginer playing in there, we can not go to next hole faster.
Employees didn't conduct any actions.
We played just 6 hole during 2 hours.
So I want to get any benefits from pro shop or golfnow.

Great Muni for your money.
Plenty of challenges and Tuff pin placement. Can be forgiving if you miss the fairway.

Poor Drainage
Don't come here if it rains the day before. The course was partially flooded. They need to install some drains and feed it to the creek(s) on the course.

Great Course
I play Idylwyld on a regular basis and the course is always well maintained. The staff is friendly and this make it a nice place to play
