Greens in terrible condition
It'd be more predictable putting in the parking lot. Patchy, grain in all different directions, underwatered, etc. I understand it's early season and all the COVID stuff kept maintenance from happening, but it's not worth the money at the moment. Plenty of other courses in the area with better playing conditions. Gull Lake's courses were in good shape last week.
Awesome layout
Bunkers were not prepped, but winter shutdown is coming soon so I understood
Great course
An outstanding course near Marshall that has the best GPS on the golf cart I have ever seen. Course is in great shape from tee to green. Great par 3’s and layout in general is interesting and challenging. Highly recommend to anyone that is in the area

Would definitely return.
Pace of play was great. Ran out of range balls, but it was quickly resolved. Caught up to a 5some and though the GPS they were told to let us play through.. Also through the GPS we ordered drinks and they bring them out to you on the course. (how cool is that!) the greens were fast and true with lots of unjulations. Don't be above the hole! Lots of carries but from the right tee boxes very playable. Would definitely return!

First time, good time
Beautiful layout, course conditions were very good. Greens were in excellent shape and running quick. Stay below the hike on your approach shots.

Nice course, great carts and amenities
Got a hot deal and was well worth it, tees and greens in excellent shape. Carts with gps and can order anything from the cart which was awesome. A little pricey at normal rates but if you can get a deal it’s great.

Premium golf experience for average cost
Premium golf experience for average cost. This is by far the best golf value for a premium course in lower Michigan. A challenging course layout with fantastic greens that are well-maintained and manicured. Brand new golf cart with GPS make shot selection much easier. This is of course worth making a trip for. You will not be disappointed.

Very challenging
What tough course, but not heart breaking. Huge greens, so many moguls, challenging bunkers - but all very well cared for. I would recommend this course to a more seasoned golfer, it will intimidate a newer player. Good luck all!!!

Pure Michigan
We had the best time at the Medalist. The course is in perfect condition. The greens are large and often multi-leveled but the carts have GPS which helps. The staff is nice. They don’t have an on course snack/beer cart but they invite you to call in at any time and they will bring you whatever you want or need anywhere on the course. We just grabbed a couple cups of ice at the turn because we were there on a very hot day. The course has a nice mix of holes, fun par threes and the feel of north Michigan golf. You will forget that you’re not that far from Kazoo, Grand Rapids and Battle Creek. It’s must play in my book.

Tough Track!
Greeted by staff that were friendly and helpful. Love that they have an Uber eats style cart for on course food delivery. The first 3 holes can lull you to sleep thinking you have an easy day ahead but things get tough on #4 and it never stops from there. Tight driving holes but fair greens. The par 5's are truly challenging. We found the course to be in very good shape but hoped for speedier greens. Will definitely return and play again. Bring lots of golf balls!

Women friendly
If only I could reach most of the greens in regulation. Putting was another matter. Greens were much slower The most courses I play. All in all a beautiful course!
Thank you for your review. The rain has definitely caused our greens to be slower than normal but as soon as we can get them to dry up a little we hope you will come back and try us again.
New favorite course
Came across this gem while on a drive from Chicago to Detroit. This place is the real deal. GPS in the cart is an absolute game changer ... we ordered a 6 pack from the GPS dashboard and they showed up about 4 minutes later with our great-tasting, less-filling Miller lite on ice in a cooler for us. I just don’t know what more you could ask for in a golf experience?
Course was in great condition and my only tip would be to practice some 70-foot putts before you go here because the greens are massive.

Wet but very playable
Even with all the rain that we have had recently the course was in great shape and very playable.

Unfortunately, after 2 inches of rain the night before we couldn't mow the greens which is also why some areas were underwater. Please contact our GM Lowell and he will offer you a discount to come back another time when Mother Nature doesn't rain on our parade so to speak. We are proud of our Golf Advisor rated #3 best course in the state and when a customer isn't happy we appreciate their feedback.
