good value
A LOT OF CLAY . THE FAIRWAYS WERE NOT CUT BECAUSE OF ALL THE RAIN WE'VE BEEN HAVING. VERY FEW SAND TRAPS. A GOOD COURSE FOR BEGINNERS.
Terra Verde - Spring 2013
Disclaimer: I played this course with a buddy of mine in late April. It should be noted that west Michigan had a ton of rain and to expect any course to be dried out and play as well as it could would be ludicrous this year.
That said, we had a pretty good time on the course other than it being kind of waterlogged. Whenever you took a divot, you had about a half inch of what felt like clay/grass stick to the club face. The greens looked like they had been recently aerated or there were a ton of worm holes as there was a large number of dirt globs on most of the greens.
It has some nice scenery and the layout wasn't overly difficult. It's a fairly short course from the white tees (<6,000 yards), but a couple of the holes require some specific clubs as water hazards are about a drive's length away from the tee in a couple of instances. It was nice to have to hit a couple of clubs you wouldn't normally get a chance to hit in order to stay short of those.
All in all, it was in about as good of a condition as one could expect a course to be here at this time of year this year, and I can only imagine it'll get better once it's actually dried out. Definitely want to go back and give it another shot later in the year.
