Golfer Reviews
Course is beautiful, and was in great shape, except some of the greens were pretty beat-up. Overbooked tee times, so it was a five our round, which I can live with, but we waited at the 1st tee for 35 minutes. Pro shop was very friendly.
Long, long, long round.
Great course, but so slow and backed up on every shot.
5 1/2 hours and we quit at 16.
Beautiful Course
I live in Orlando, FL. Michigan golf is better by far. This is just another example. The course is absolutely beautiful.
Everything else was just ok. Golf carts were horrible. I complained to the starter about my cart stuttering and moving slow. Asked if he could call the proshop to have another sent over. He told me to get it myself.
Everything goof about this course is in the actual course.
Carts
Course was in great shape, but there’s no beer/seltzers at the clubhouse. Also, the golf carts are slightly less than terrible.
Very well maintained course
Played at Blackheath many times and the staff is very friendly. The pace of play can be faster but overall a great course.
Play elsewhere
Clubhouse, carts, range, food, drinks, are all terrible.
Whomever owns this course puts the minimum into. The only reason to play the track was the cheap green fees
They are now up
Spend the extra 10 bucks to play somewhere worth your money
I've played here dozens of times over 15 years.
Not coming back until i hear of new ownership
Oh
But the greens were nice. Kudos to the greens keeper.
Open and challenging
Beautiful, hilly course with nice views. Fairways are open and there aren’t a lot of trees, but the course is still challenging with a ton of hills, sand traps and water. Really enjoy playing here and will definitely be back.
Open Links Style, Hilly, and Fun
Had fun at this Links style, hills course. Not super challenging but not easy either. Definitely want to play again.
Course etiquette
I have to start with Blackheath is a great track. Layout is amazing. Tough but score able in a lot of areas.
Now the bad for years everyone talks about how they enjoy Blackheat but the pace of play and on course conditions stop them from going back.
Trash left on the course ball marks continously not repaied on the greens in sad.
We have complained to management to up the green fee by $15 to $20 to remove trash golfers who come out to play poorly and damage the course.increased green fees will help better pace of play, eliminate trash golfers and give golfers a better on course experience.
Great course
The course was in excellent condition! The pace was a little slow even for a Sunday afternoon. (about 5hrs). There were many holes where golfers from other holes were hitting in your fairway which could have contributed to the pace of play. Not a course for a beginner golfer.
Our Favorite Course!
This is my families favorite course to play! The fairways are maintained and bright green, the greens are manicured and very fast. The only trees are on the exterior perimeter of the course so your slice won’t be a problem at Blackheath. The prices are also lower than most of the decent courses in the area. Give it a try!
Disappointing Twilight Tee Time Experience
My recent experience at Blackheath during a twilight tee time was highly unsatisfactory. The lack of organization and disregard for proper course etiquette made it an extremely frustrating outing.
One of the major issues we encountered was the constant problem of people skipping over holes. It seemed as though there was little to no monitoring or enforcement of the order of play. This resulted in significant delays and an unfair waiting game for those who followed the rules. At one point, we found ourselves waiting on four different groups ahead of us, causing an unnecessarily lengthy round.
Moreover, the apparent absence of any course marshals or staff members to regulate the flow of play further exacerbated the problem. Without proper supervision, the golf course became a chaotic free-for-all, with players taking liberties and causing significant delays for others.
A round of golf should be an enjoyable experience, but unfortunately, Blackheath failed to meet even the most basic expectations. The disregard for maintaining a fair and orderly pace of play severely impacted our overall satisfaction. It’s disappointing to witness such poor management and a lack of consideration for golfers’ time and experience.
Given our disappointing twilight tee time at Blackheath Golf Club, I cannot recommend this establishment to fellow golfers seeking a well-organized and enjoyable golfing experience.
Course in good condition, slow pace
Course was in good shape. The greens were rolling good and tricky as ever. Some reason pace of play really slows up at the 11th hole and continues until 18
