Myth Golf & Banquet - Little Myth Par-3

Biggest Issues:

-Pace of play is of no priority to them

-Large groups playing together

-Overbooked the course

-Numerous rangers that appear to do nothing for enforcing pace

-Neglected course infrastructure

-Poor signage to direct to ‘far away’ tee boxes

Pros: Staff were nice (anddddd that's the end of my praise)

Pace of play: I was a single on a busy Saturday afternoon. They threw me out by myself which sounds great, but I think they likely did this all day and created more ‘groups’ on the course. This only meant I sat around in my cart waiting alone.

I am not kidding when I said I got to the green of the 5th hole (or so) and I was the 7th cart parked - backed up for the following tee box.

There were at least 3 staff members at the starting area with ranger flags, 1 starter I believe. I never saw a single ranger on the front 9 in my 2hr 45 minutes. I had 3 others in my tee time where they booked my time plus the tee time starting 8 minutes later had 3 more ‘in their group’. This group played as 3 carts in one group of 6 golfers… on a Saturday. I saw another group of at least 6 in another group too.

The atmosphere seemed like it was just about getting groups out anyway they wanted. The younger guys in front of me were enjoying shot gunning beers to kill time waiting around, one of the 6 people groups were shouting on their tee box and hyping themselves up and painfully yelling “quiet in the gallery! Quiet in the gallery!” to try to help one of them focus on their tee shot while I’m on the next hole’s green trying to make a putt for once in my life. Just obnoxious, but they were having fun.

The tee boxes were beat up. As I was admiring the sheer amount of litter along their long wooden bridge through some woods, I saw a chipmunk run to the center of the tips’ tee box and dive into the center that had a hole in it. Tee boxes were generally uneven and sandy.

While this was my first time, I was confused on where to drive to get to the next hole several times and this included using 18Birdies to attempt to navigate my position to the tee box too.

I ended up calling time of death after about 5 hours after I got to the back 9 after maybe 12 holes and realized I skipped 3-4 holes and went up to 17. I was exhausted from waiting, a lack of care for the experience of their golfers, impressively getting lost from hole to hole 3+ times throughout the round and figured I had experienced the course.

If they don’t care about the experience, you don’t need to care about trying this course - at least on the weekends. But if you want to get grouped up with more than 4 golfers in a group, want to focus on drinking and don’t have anywhere to be all day, this may be the course for you.

Challenging course with unforgiving rough. Hitting specific targets essential here. Check out the course book for precise yardage to best targets.

Beautiful grounds well kept. Friendly ranger that kept the midday groups moving.9th hole a bit difficult to follow, otherwise appreciate the well marked signage.

Great course with an up north Michigan feel. Pace of play was really slow, lots of waiting for the groups in front.

We gave this joint another chance and won’t be going back. The pace of play is horrible and the Ranger does nothing to speed up slow groups. From the second hole on we waited on every hole . Generally there were 3 to 4 groups of players on every hole After 9 holes we quit. Won’t be back!

Tee boxes could use some love. But, otherwise, great value. Unique course with lot of fun holes.

Played here for the first time in a long time with friends from out of town. It was a nice course, some tough pin positions on slanted greens. Could use some better signage on getting to next hole and on hole 14 with a 90° dogleg left.

Love this place...the layout..the staff... first class...Gem!!!

Nice course and cool layout, but they heavily over book. They allowed a 6 sum that only came with 2 sets of clubs to tee off in front of us even though 2 of them shared the same tee time we booked. Every time I play here it is a 5 to 6 hour round. Not worth it imo

The course was very good layout wise, the front 9 was very beautiful, the back nine didn’t seem to be as well kept. The pace of play was horrible, the 4 man group in front of us was taking their sweet old time and took a breakfast ball like every hole. When asked if we could play through since we were a two some they said “h*llno we ain’t waiting for you two” the proceeded to snap hook his drive into the trees. 18 holes took us 6 hours and 12 minutes. We tried speaking to the ranger when we saw him but he drove off talked to them but nothing happened.
