Stony Creek Golf Course
About
Stony Creek is part of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks system and many locals consider it to be one of its gems. There aren't any residences near the golf course, giving it a secluded feel and providing unhindered views from the elevated tees. The course opened in 1976 but underwent a major renovation that included re-sculpting the bunkers and reconditioning the entire golf course. The layout features several doglegs and a surprising amount of elevation changes. The fairways are tightly lined with trees and bunkers are strategically placed along the greensides and landing zones. There are also lakes and ponds that come into play on six holes on the front nine and three on the back. Stony Creek's par-3 17th is the most memorable water hole and the 14th is also notable for its tiny "postage stamp" green.

Nice course with an up north feel
No houses on the course which was nice.
We had 3 golfers so they made us go out with a rando single. That’s always annoying.
Otherwise very good though.
Great play
Course overall was in great shape. The only exception were a few tee boxes that were in rough shape. Beautifule layout, great pace of play (4 hrs 15 mins) Staff was outstanding!
Impressed
Greens and fairways were impressive. It's been awhile since I played it but the return wasn't a disappointment. Pace of play that day was horrible but other than that it was great.
Stony Creek
Tee boxes need to be reseeded
Very wet course if rained day before
Pace of play very slow
Nice course
Good Value with a hot deal.
Lots of fun with many challenging holes!!
Magical Day on the Course
Perfect weather on a very well maintained public course!
Good Course Bad
Twosome in front of my group were using pushers and never offered the courtesy of letting us play ahead. Normally a ranger will come out and say something but didn’t see one except when we checked it for tee time. No reason a round of 9 should take 2.5 hours
Slow pace of play
Have played here once or twice before and love the course for what it charged and is designed but the clubhouse has to come up with a better solution for the pace of play, when I went to tee off on hole one there was a line of 7 carts and then another 4 in the first hole and was so congested and took me 2.5 hours to play 9.
Fun round
I and my plying partner had a decent warm up prior to the round on the range and putting green,
There were several foursome groups ahead of us that were moving but quite slow. Since we were playing as a twosome and had nowhere to go, we wound up having to wait a lot.
We managed to adjust to the pace and just relax and we ended up finishing no worse.
second time out for us both and enjoyed playing. I shot 95 no mullys from the golds.
Unexpected cost and delay
Go early the course is in a metro park and the line can be long to get in. If you are not a member of the park it is an additional $10.00 entry fee. We paid $75.00 for 2 players 9 holes well worth the money.
Only complaint starter pushing us to tee off when the foursome ahead of us were barely out of reach. We were not going anywhere and I don’t like pushing players ahead of me.
We finished 9 in 2 hours.
