Stony Creek is part of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks system and many locals consider it to be one of its gems. There aren't any residences near the golf course, giving it a secluded feel and providing unhindered views from the elevated tees. The course opened in 1976 but underwent a major renovation that included re-sculpting the bunkers and reconditioning the entire golf course. The layout features several doglegs and a surprising amount of elevation changes. The fairways are tightly lined with trees and bunkers are strategically placed along the greensides and landing zones. There are also lakes and ponds that come into play on six holes on the front nine and three on the back. Stony Creek's par-3 17th is the most memorable water hole and the 14th is also notable for its tiny "postage stamp" green.

Many tee areas in terrible condition. The rest of the course on very good shape.
MetroPark Golf
Good value, especially if you already have the annual pass. Went during the day so there was a lot of senior citizens, which made the pace a little slow. The starter needs to learn how to be more efficient and manage both the front 9 and back 9. He kept everyone backed up on the front 9 because he didn't want anyone to play the back 9, for some reason.

Tried to change to 4 some day prior and no flexibility from staff. Told us we are already paired. We showed up and were never paired up nor was the course busy
Nice Course - add $10 to price
This was my second round at Stony Creek. I forgot that one must pay $10 to enter the park unless you have an annual pass (Michigan park passes are not valid).
The course was in good shape, save a few chewed up tee boxes. On the day I played, the greens were slow. Given the amount of movement, this proved to be most challenging.

Stony Creek Metropark Golf Course
Typically in very good condition tee to green, the only downsides to playing this course is the speed of the greens has been slower this year, and at times pace of play. Some challenging layout holes require you to think your way around, rather than just hit it as far as you can off the tee.

Course was not in bad shape with all the warm weather we have been having. Greens were really slow. Bunkers were not raked and sand was very hard
Tee Box
Would love to see Stoney Creek to improve the quality of their tee box, primarily on par threes. They are divot fields, little grass.
Overbooked supposed to tee off at 1040 had 2 wait for 3 4somes. 3 hour 10 minute 9 left after 11 holes rangers did nothing to enforce pace of play
