Stony Creek Golf Course
About
Stony Creek is part of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks system and many locals consider it to be one of its gems. There aren't any residences near the golf course, giving it a secluded feel and providing unhindered views from the elevated tees. The course opened in 1976 but underwent a major renovation that included re-sculpting the bunkers and reconditioning the entire golf course. The layout features several doglegs and a surprising amount of elevation changes. The fairways are tightly lined with trees and bunkers are strategically placed along the greensides and landing zones. There are also lakes and ponds that come into play on six holes on the front nine and three on the back. Stony Creek's par-3 17th is the most memorable water hole and the 14th is also notable for its tiny "postage stamp" green.

Great condition.
Only downfall was lack of repairs to ballmarks on greens.
Slow Greens
Played the course for $11. Only go if there is a great hot deal. Fantastic layout but doesn't get necessary care. Still a very fun track
Good variety of holes with plenty of trees lining the fairways
Fun challenge. Ground is hard packed especially on approach to the green - soft landing a must. If you run hard toward the green expect a long roll.
Nothing Special.
Not all its cracked up to be!!! Waited a long time to play that course. Overpriced
Would not play here again.
Green speeds were very inconsistent. Rough not maintained very well. Standing hazards among the fairways. Staff did not seem happy about booking through golf now.
course has great layout
the greens are very difficult to read for two reasons, the contours and the grain.
Has potential
Nice layout. Course was shaggy. Long grass on both greens and fairways. My cart was filthy. Pick it up guys.
Great track
I've played this course 4 times this year. It's gorgeous! Long even from the whites if you a 18 to 20 handicap. Rangers kept the pace going well, even with a lot of golfers on it. Greens are well maintained. The ball always dies the last foot though. Great value for the money!
Course is great
We played after a heavy rain and had to follow "cart path only" rule with cart which was frustrating, but the course stayed in better shape that way. A couple holes close to the park road are annoying because of the shouts of "fore" in your backswing by cars driving along (not the course fault for idiots).
Lovely setting, slow play.
A beautiful setting for the golf course. Lots of wildlife to enjoy. Course was in good shape. Had 3 to 4 foursomes playing ahead of us who were quite slow. Lots of waiting. Didn't like that we also had to pay to get into the park.
nice course
Guys at course said they were just getting started with GolfNow. If you have a junior (under 20), its only $5 WITH CART as long as a paying adult is present. The pro shop did require a copy of the confirmation. Even after recent rains, the course was pretty dry and in great shape.. not a single mower was seen!
nice course
we arrived early for our 1pm tee time, unfortunately the starter was unable to move our time up as the course was fully booked, i was told that as we booked with golfnow they will be pairing us up to make a foursome (if you book directly through the course they allow twosomes).
there is a $5 entrance fee for the park, but they provide a $4 refund for golf, present this ticket at the pro shop at check in & maybe it will work, i presented my ticket after the round & was told it was too difficult to get the $4 back after the fact - whatever.
the golf course was great with some interesting holes & the greens were very challenging.
i will play this again in a heartbeat if the price is $22 with a cart.
It was wet from all the rain...cart path only needed
Great course...always kept in good shape.
Greens are playable but many fairways are narrow
This was a great deal.
Enjoy playing this course. It's a little more challenging than it looks. Always love the staff.
The course was in good shape.
The greens were in very good shape. Putting fast but still able to hold a long iron shot into the green.
This course has nice features.
Overall all are very well maintained to make the play enjoyable. Good fairway that allow me to make good second shot. Good bunker filled up with soft sand.
Fair course in great shape!!
Review based on Hot Deals at 16 dollars. If I had to pay 37.00 plus entrance to the park it becomes avg deal. Course in great shape and can score well there.
