Willow Springs Golf & Country Club

About
Willow Springs Golf & Country Club is located just north of Millington in Vassar. It has been open since the 1970s but it underwent a complete renovation in 2005. The course was made more challenging but at the same time more playable with the reconditioning of both the greens and fairways. The golf course is routed through mature forests and around several ponds. The gently rolling terrain provides subtle undulations in the greens that force you to pay attention to course management. Accuracy is also essential when navigating the tree-lined fairways. Willow Springs' bunkering is minimal but strategically placed and water also comes into play. There are some tough holes but it's still player friendly enough for beginners. In addition to the golf course, there is also a short-iron driving range.

Decent course for the money
Its early in the season so I don't expect too much, but there were quite a few flaws in the course. The main complaint I have is the golf cart they gave me... I couldn't have imagined a worse cart than that. It had so much torque that it scared me when I pushed on the pedal. To give a frame of reference, I'm 20 years old. Terrible cart. Decent course though
Great Value
Very nice course. Took a friend who has not played in 10 years and had a great time. Never any bad experiences at this course, highly recommend.
Great Value
This course seems to be a bit of a hidden gem.
It's off the beaten path enough to make it seem like you're up in northern-lower Michigan. Nice views.
Greens have some undulation and seemed to run true, flat, and fairly quick.
Our mixed group all enjoyed it as first timers!
Fairways were the only draw-back as they weren't very well maintained.
Still for $18 for 18 with cart, what a great value!
Glad We Decided To Play Here
For the average golfer, this course is fairly challenging. Nearly every hole is lined with trees on both sides along with water and trap hazards on about 2/3 of them. Course is in better condition than many that cost much more ($18 for 18 Holes w/cart on golfnow) making it a great value. Overall, the course is a little short (5621 playing whites, 6091 for blues) but plenty challenging. Though a little off the beaten path, this family owned and operated course was worth the drive.
Enjoyed the day
Course was in nice shape, greens rolled true.
a pleasant surprise
I enjoyed playing Willow Springs, the course was in good condition, the greens were good and the layout was fun to play. It is a course you need to play once before trying to score as there are some tricky doglegs and a stream that runs through the back nine. The pro shop was stocked pretty well and the staff were great.
Willow Springs
Our first time playing Willow Springs - Mike in the pro shop was very personable and welcoming! The course has a very nice layout. We liked it so much we played 36 holes. I would recommend this course to all. GolfNow had $10 round's for this course!

This is a beautiful course. A huge challenge with the cricks that run through it. Speedy greens with plenty of break. Great job gang ill be back for sure.
Nice experience
Nice course, enough challenges to make it fun yet not hard. Good value!
Excellent Greens
Tree removal and trimming would improve enjoyment of play on several holes. Weedy fairways and tee boxes. Clubhouse needs better lighting reminds one of a Funeral home. Fair value for dollars paid.
Value
Very good family course to play. Course is traditional and fair. Great for beginners and intermediate players. Enjoyable course to take young golfers without the pressures. Very nice staff. Clean and warm facilities. Definitely return.
Very friendly people
We had a good time and the food was great after our round.
nice course
Nice kept course, challenging course with lots of trees, priced reasonable, good food
the course was very well maintained!
Everything was perfect. I am a new golfer and the only problem my partner had was he couldnt see any markers for distance. The staff was great.
nice place
Got 18 rounds for $15 and you can't beat that. Course was clean and nice and not to bad of a layout for being in rural area
Greens are great
Greens on this course are nice and soft. Saw three deer and a blond greyhound!

We had a great time. The carts have ball and club washers on them which we thought was awesome! Would definitely play again!
