About
Timbers Golf Club is situated just 10 minutes from Frankenbluth in Vassar, a town that is known for its great shopping. Though you might look at the 133-slope rating and pass it off as a "resort course," it would be a mistake to underestimate this golf course. It starts with a challenging front nine that features tight fairways and tricky doglegs. There are also several marshes scattered through and water comes into play on seven holes. At 3,141 yards, Timbers' front nine will put your short and mid-iron skills to the test while the back nine is a little longer at 3,454 yards. There are considerably more sand bunkers on the back. Be sure to build up your score on the par 3s and par 4s because the tough par 5s are sure to swallow a few shots.

Staff dressed inappropriately
I thought the cart girl was dressed very risqué. Boobs hanging out, plunging neck line, I know she’s working for tips but come on. I was embarrassed to have my two out of town guests there with me today as I have always bragged about this course.
Pleasantly surprised
I booked this as a party deal wasn’t really expecting a lot. I was pleasantly surprised and how well of course was maintain fairways were perfect greens were fast. Everything was nice and green sand was particular no rocks in it. I’m an East side or so everything in County area seems like the sand traps are full of rocks so I would recommend this course. I’m just an average golfer so a challenge be perfect.
Hidden Gem
Great challenging course, awesome value, friendly staff
Not for another three weeks
Nice people and give kudos to the owners because it looks like they are maintaining the course by punching the greens. That said, they rolled about as good as the tee boxes would have. Super disappointed in that and just wanna give a heads up to my fellow golfers. I wouldn’t be putting this on my schedule for another three weeks.
New owners
We are the new owners and started to take over Monday October 27,2025. We will have a full kitchen soon, one simulator for winter leagues and a friendly staff. Please give us a try in 2026.
Great day at Timbers!
Nice course... The staff is top-notch. Special thanks to Brent... my autistic adult son rides along with me when I golf, Brent was very accommodating to our needs, appreciated his time and compassion.
Closed clubhouse at 6pm
Went to get a drink at the turn and the clubhouse was closed at 6 pm on a Saturday very disappointed played this course 4 times this summer never again.
Hot deal!
For a hot deal at 7 am on Golf Now id play here 4 days a week honestly. You can really run through the bag. Ample pace of play allows you to explore multi shots, shapes, ect. Sprinklers were running on back nine at about 8 am which gave me a damp fairway perfect for an added obstacle to play through. Fairways are always in great shape, greens were being cut during the round for some added difficulty.
