Heritage links
If you are playing it the first time there is some completely blind shots and distances. The could use some more distance markers for the blind shots. Other than that course was fun to play. JB
Key - 150yd marker
Played 2 courses both with 126 slopes over Memorial day.
Heritage was by far the better course - well maintained, friendly staff and FAIR if you follow the yardage book. I didn't score well because the greens were true unlike the other course (aka I can't putt or need a new putter).
I'll definitely play Heritage Links again!
Hilly course
A hilly course with one blind shot after another. Hidden hazards that leave you with a potential bad shot that I found myself in far too frequently. If this is your home course and you have all the shot lines figured out, and you like enjoy the beauty of the rolling hills, it’s understandable that you would rank the course higher.
Enjoyable
This course is fairly easy if you’re smart. Make sure to look around and remember fairways coming up. Some blind shots but fairly wide open. I would like to see them mow around the greens more to make it more testing.
Look forward to playing it in the summer when greens are faster and the fairways grow out.
Challenging
It's a challenging course with long holes and rolling hills. A good course for long iron play on the fairway.
Good course!
Tough course, lots of blind shots if you are just trying to golf quick you will be guessing.
Staff runs a tight ship!
Fast quiet round
Got off early, no waiting. Greens were punched but not bad.
good greens, tricky course
If you arent familiar with the course, grab one of their course layout booklets, and spend 5 minutes talking to someone in the pro shop about the many tricky shots you will run into. Lots of bling shots, Lots of trouble you cant see off the tee, lots of places where you want to ease off the gas pedal and play very conservative.
If you play smart, you will score. The greens are nice and always rolling at a good pace. The folks who work out here, especially the club PGA pro, are all very nice.
This is a staple for me, and I regularly make the drive down from Minneapolis to enjoy this tricky little beast.
Not what it once was!
Too bad...because this course
used to be in much better shape.
Sand traps are now wastelands, no upkeep.
Tee boxes uneven mostly.
Greens are okay. but clover everywhere in the fairways.
Not a good value anymore, and hardly any deals to be found for the course condition.
Will Never be back
First experience at this course and will never go back. Drove 30 minutes to play a new course. The Ranger was a complete power hungry grade A a-hole. Pace of play was terrible. The course looked like it hadn’t been watered in weeks despite much recent rain. The layout was horrendous and design was terrible. Many blind shots with no way to see the group in front of you. The greens looked like no one fixed any ball marks and were in awful shape. It’s built on a swamp with many holes where your tee shot needs to go under 200 yards then a blind approach over a hazard. I personally will never play this course again. For $60 play Legends or Wilds or Mystic. Many other options available.
Hidden shots
Beware you are shooting blind on many holes. A great drive might land you in a hazard. Challenging course first time out. But worth the trip.
