No drinks
No starter so blocked up play for the first 5 holes, plus the guy in the clubhouse never told us that there was no beer cart so we had no drinks on a day in the 80s
Not worth the money
I was excited to play this course as it was $50 so my expectations were high. Don’t waste your time or money. The pro shop charged me $11 more which I don’t understand. The starter was in and out watching TV in the pro shop. I asked the desk if I could join one of the twosomes and he said they were full which was a lie. The app showed many openings where I could have joined a twosome and there were twosomes all around the 3 they paired me with.
The greens where good and rolled true fairways and tees were good too. But there are way to many blind shots. For that price you’d think they’d have GPS on there carts. Or at least pictures on the scorecard....nope.
In conclusion it’s a 35-40 dollar course. Definitely not worth the price I paid!
Buyer beware!
Long story short, as Golfnow would post my last comment, $61 was way to much to pay! Starter was not available as he was watching golf on tv in the pro shop. Course in good condition, many blind shots so bring extra balls.
St. Croix was almost half the price in hot deals and is WAAAAAAY more worth the price! Don’t waste your time and money at Heritage!
Nice Track
Friendly staff, excellent shape, good design, not too many blind shots. I played as a single for the first time and had a blast.
General review
Too many blind shots and layout that forces your hand. You hit a nice drive into a blind fairway only to find you are in trees, marsh or water.
The holes are right next to each other and you hear "Four" all the time, especially during your back swing. Very noisy course as everyone is hitting into each other's fairway. Front nine was hit the ball and wait and back nine is hit the ball and hope you can find it.
Course is in great shape but a bit too gimmicky for me
Nice track. Layout is decent for my son. He and his buddies had a great time on my dime. lo
If you've played there before you know when to play risk/reward. Course makes you play smart for a low number.
When I could play b/4 my disability, I loved your track right up there with good surrounding courses.
Heritage Links
Started off the round badly when they said there was an issue with their online tee times through golf now... they moved my tee time back 40 minutes from when I had booked it for (And charged me more than I had booked for). The pace of play was also awful, groups of half walkers and half riders mixed together so we waited an average of 5-10minutes on each tee box. The course itself was in pretty good shape but the layout has blind tee shots on about half the holes and many blind approach shots. Likely won’t return.
Best greens in the south metro
Hadn’t played here in years because conditions went downhill. Went back again this past July and couldn’t believe the shape it was in tee to green. The biggest improvement is the greens - now comparable to courses two to three times more expensive. I ended up playing a half dozen more times before the season ended. Five stars.
Would return
Course was in good shape considering recent wet weather. Price was good with hot deal but full price is a bit more than I'd want to pay. Will look out for more deals. Friendly staff
Heritage Better than several past years
The day was perfect. Started around 8:40am. Fairways best shape in years. Rough's cut just the right length so you can still find your ball. Some greens had lots of ball marks but that was from play from prior rainy weather.. All greens held shots and only a couple seemed faster than the rest.
They have cleaned up some area's to make it more playable and added a trap on the on one. Cart paths still rough. What I liked the most was how full the grass was in the fairways. The ball sat up and they were cut to a good length.
Partial Links Course
We had a perfect Saturday morning to play this course for the first time. We chose it as it was within driving range of Uptown and had open morning tee times at a reasonable price.
We were expecting a somewhat flatter landscape given the "links" designation. Some design elements were similar to a links-style course (carries over marshes & blind shots), but other elements were missing (e.g., hard wide fairways, penal rough, large undulant greens). Even so, it was an interesting course but really requires a lot of course knowledge (and a detailed guidebook!) to shoot a decent score. My playing partner and I lost a half-dozen balls in wide open areas, -- usually after blind shots -- despite the short rough, which was very frustrating as we also lost a similar number due to poor shots into the ever-present marshland scattered throughout the property.
The clubhouse is very basic, although there were a few tables, a small bar, and basic foodstuffs.
We were paired with a few local semi-pro baseball players who were celebrating the end of their season. All in all, we had a very enjoyable day.
