Milham Park Municipal Golf Course

About
Situated on the southern edge of Kalamazoo, Milham Park Golf Club borders its namesake park. This municipal course is one of the best in the city, boasting some of the best conditions of any of the area's golf courses. Originally opened as a nine-hole course in 1931, the second nine was added as a project under the Works Project Administration in 1935. The course has a traditional layout that is seemingly short by modern standards at 6,630 yards from the back tees. Don't let the yardage fool you, Milham Park offers many holes with good length. The layout is heavily bunkered and there are tall trees along the fairways. Water is nowhere to be found except for a mild hazard that edges along the fourth hole.

Great course
Really enjoy this place,
Not satisfied
Paid for 18 holes, start time was suppose to be 6:38 pm. Didn’t tee off until 7:15 due to course being backed up. Didn’t finish the front 9 until 9:20. So therefore, paid for 18 and only got to play 9. Will not be going back.
I thought it was the country club.
32 years ago I had just moved to the area. When I drove by this course for the first time I thought it was the local country club. Their annual membership was incredibly reasonable. So, it has been my home course since. It has had some changes due to storms bringing down trees over the years. However, it has prevailed and is still one of the nicest public courses in the state.
Best in K-Zoo?!?!
Listen to be honest this is one of my favorite spots in Kalamazoo. If you know a better public course within 10 minutes of downtown PLEASE let me know. The greens felt like I was walking on soft cement today, couldn’t believe how fast they were. It was honestly a nightmare for an amateur like myself. Loved it though. Rain set in at the start of the back nine and there was no one around. Such a peaceful experience. I’m not a pro and my home base is Hickory Ridge so take my feedback for what it’s worth. This guy loves Milham.
Friendly
Everyone is nice and willing to help any way they can I really enjoying plying their . I recommend that you play.
Good conditions for this time of year! A bit soft all the way around, but no standing water or soaked spots.
Muni Golf at its Best
Milham still is one of the best municipal courses in the state. Great greens that roll fast and true and good fairways. Always a good place to play.
Slow golf
Have played Milham a few times this year and the pace of play is always slow. Did not finish the round. Only played 13 of the 18. They just don't manage the tee times well. Course condition has digressed this year. I know it's a city course, which is always busy, but the value for this course has gone down. It's a shame, as I like the layout and staff. Nice training area. The storms did not help this year as well. I will still play here again, just thought I would share my thoughts.
