Fun course with a few challenging holes
Lost Spur has been around for years and give s the average (16-22 handicap) golfer a good challenge. The length is a bit shorter, with hole designs that make the golfer think. These are not straight, flat, easy to play holes. There’s elevation changes, dog legs or minor bends, some large trees and a little water. Conditions are average - greens could be better if golfers would replace divots - and carts are available.
Nice course, some challenging holes
This is a nice course for those wanting a par 34 challenge. Some of the holes require an emphasis on shotmaking, but it’s a good time for all skill levels. Huge hill comes into play twice in the round. I am not fond of #4 which is a par 4 blind dogleg right. Worth a quick trip and some fun.
Beautiful Course
It was my first time golfing at Lost Spur. I really enjoyed the course. It was well maintained and offered some great challenges. The only issue was it was a beautiful day and EVERYONE was out golfing and there were some groups going slower ahead of us and people behind us that were losing their patience a bit.
Overall, the experience was great and I'm thankful to have this 9-hole course in the Metro.
Nice course for a quick nine
Love the new cart paths. Greens were in great shape.
New cart paths are a big improvement but at what cost - it sure tore up the course.
Tee boxes continue to be a nightmare. You cannot find a level spot with grass on it. Number 9 is a joke. Why not rope half the box off, plant some grass, and water it ?
Maintenance
Course needs more maintenance. I’m sure it’s very hard to get and keep workers but things like tee boxes really need work
Friendly Challenging Course
One would think that this short course would be easy and wouldn’t offer much challenge. But I find it a fun course with enough challenge that I can hit pretty much all of clubs and feel good with a 5 or 6 over par round. I love the par 3’s and the exercise I get walking up the hills on #2 and getting to #6. I can normally play in 90 minutes, so it is basically a long lunch. If you only have a short time time to play and want to have some golf fun - play this course!
Worst Course in Metro
My mother taught me that if you cant say something nice then keep your mouth shut unless its about a golf course...I have been lucky enough to literally play all over the state of MN and with out a doubt the Lost Spur is the worst golf course I have ever played from the design to the condition. I can't think of any redeeming qualities. I really don't mean to be be disparaging but find a different course to play!!!
