Over booked
If you like getting out early on the weekend dont bother playing here. They'll put 5 groups ahead of you on the back 9 even though you were the first tee time. A threesome, twosome, twosome, threesome and foursome all waiting on the same hole. Ill never be back.
Do not play Tuesday mornings
Tuesday morning they have a women’s league. I play 18 holes and it is very slow! We asked at the turn if we could try the other nine holes but they would not let us said that we were on track at the turn. It took us 45 minutes. There’s four groups lined up waiting behind us. I didn’t finish my round. I played three more holes took 45 more minutes and I had to leave.
Friendly and fun
Great course, everyone from the pro shop to the cart people.
Practice Makes Perfect
I played here on a beautiful day. The staff was friendly & helpful. The people I played with were pleasant, friendly and fun to golf with. The course was in excellent condition. Except that it was a cart path only day, it was great. The weather was perfect.
Spring Golf
71 degrees on Good Friday is a perfect to get out in the spring course was wet in areas which you expect in the spring plus recent wet weather itsbexpected.
Greens were in pretty good shape
Course needs works but should be in excellent shape for the season
Mismanaged Tee Times
I showed up with a group of ) 6 with 2 back to back tee times. By the time we had the groups show up we were waiting behind 3 groups at the first tee box. We did not tee off until 25 minutes after our original tee time. It made no sense as to why we were unable to play directly behind our other group that we came with. Plus we paid for 18 and couldn’t even finish the round before carts were due back. There’s no reason a course should that poor of time management. Especially when the course has 27 holes.
Great features poor value
Conditions not great but it was late in the season. Pulled off the 7th hole with 30 minutes till sunset on playing 9. Don’t sell tee times that late if you won’t allow folks to finish
Poor everything
This is the worst course imaginable. The fairways are In very bad condition. Some are all weeds. Some are like the Sahara Desert. The absolute worst part is the pace of play. This course over books to the extent that it will take you 30 min to play one hole. It’s all about how many people they can get on the course. Money grabbers. I would highly not recommend playing this course. Until they get it together.
Not worth the money
2 of the par 5s have the tees way up and playing as par3s. Had an 8some in front of us for the first few holes that the rangers let happen, so we ended up just skipping a hole since they wouldn’t let us play through. Not worth $70, will not be back.
They really improved since the beginning of the season.
I played Sycamore a few times this year. I was staying away from it because the course wasn’t really taken care of at the beginning of season. I played the other day and WOW!!what a turnaround from the beginning of the year. The fairways were in great condition and so were the tee boxes and the greens. Great job to the groundskeepers!
Way overpriced for poor course condition
Played here many times over the last several years. Condition is the worst I have seen, by far. West course is particularly bad. North is slightly better, Tee boxes, fairways and even greens have large bare dirt areas and dead grass, showing major neglect. Several tee boxes are verging on unplayable. Overall condition has plummeted this year compared to prior rounds.
I held Sycamore in high regard, one, of my favorites, until today. Paid $67 on a Sunday (18 holes-riding) for a course that should have been $47, if that. I should have listened to another reviewer saying similar things here, but I suppose I had to see for myself. It'll be tough to go back anytime soon. Disappointing!
1/5
Course was in pitiful shape. I have played it quite a few times and this is the worst it’s been. A 70$ round, might as well have played maple lane
Terrible value
Paid $67 for 18. Price is OUTRAGEOUS for what you’re getting. Where do I even start? Many of the fairways have dirt spots. Same with the greens. Tee boxes were beat up, difficult to find a spot to tee your ball. A par 5 on the west course was cut in half and turned into a par 3. The course setup is average at best. No organization or enforcement from the “starter” (some guy sitting in a shack). We pulled up to the first tee 3 groups deep. Both us and the group in front of us had “8am” tee times. I probably wouldn’t complain if the rate was $50, but it wasn’t. I normally don’t complain if the price is right, but I can write a list a mile long of the courses I could play for a similar price before I ever returned to this place.
TLDR course is too expensive for the condition it is in. Can find many better courses at equal or better price point. Save yourself the trouble.
