15th green, one of the few that wasn’t all patchy on the edges and gives you a nice scenery of those pine trees. Photo submitted by BuffaloBen15 on 10/26/2020
Fernhill
Fernhill golf course is best known for having very good events. If you can afford you can have an outstanding wedding or other such event there. The course is in decent shape and a lot of rounds are played there. There are some quirky holes that are border line unfair. I recommend a redesign or the removal of a few badley placed trees. Overall the is a value but not at a premium cost.
Good value for $20
I hot to play this golf course for $20 making it a good GN value. The vourse needs some work. They are trying to address the tee boxes. If I had to pay full price I might not recommend the course.
Don't play here after it rains...
A lot of the course is lower than road, so if it rained, chances are, it flooded.
I played during a drought, and the dirt was rock hard in some areas. I lost more balls here than any other course.
Worth the drive
This course is worth the drive with a few holes that really keep you on your toes. The only “rough” spot was the cart path it could use some repairs, so be ready for a bumpy ride on the fairway. The staff was aces, they were friendly, and welcoming. We ordered the brick oven pizza and it was truly above par, a slice worth sinking your teeth into!
Decent
Decent course with some challenging holes, and freindly staff. They definitely need work on the cart paths
Rocks and marshmallows
First of the tee boxes are rocks , I had trouble putting the tee in the ground on some tee boxes , and then not sure what they had going on that day but they had marshmellowz all over the course what made it hard to find your ball
Great Course
Tee boxes were a little beat. Waited on every hole they packed us in pretty tight. Staff was very friendly and the clubhouse was very well kept. Overall great value for the price point! Bring your mosquito spray!!!!!!!
Great Condition and Tricky
The first time I played this I hated it. The layout was tricky and I was just starting out. Maintenance was great and condition was really nice, lots of trees and some water, but I just couldn’t handle the layout. My suggestion if you want to score well is to study the layout a bit and really plan your shots. However, it really is a great course. I’m surprised the reviews are low, but I think it has less to do with the conditions and moreso with the fact it’s a tricky one. If you have a chance to play it, go for it. It’s got some character and in a beautiful setting.
