Fair
The pace was very slow, fairways were in rough condition with a lot of dirt and not a lot of grass. Encountered a friendly staff member, but also encountered a grumpy staff member on the 18th hole that was not friendly at all. He had told us to hurry up on the green because people were waiting for their shot to the green when it took us 6 hours to play because of the slow pace.
Spring time conditions
If the fairways grow in, the course should be great. Greens recently aerated and were slow but this should be expected at this time of the year. Design of course is odd at times for example a par three on the front and back nine are side by side with foursomes on the front nine having to wait for those on the back to tee off
hard dead surface
this course really needs some work. Maybe because it was early in the season. it could be a very very nice course if they only took better care of the surface.
Good course in May
Course playable ,but fairways no grass, greens were decent. In May or june course will be there, not yet, sorry. It is a affordable course .
A great time
Friendly staff, good pace for about 12 holes then got stuck behind a tournament. However, have played here before and there was no blockage. Overall fun course.
Very good for the price
Worth every penny. Great pace. Nice people. Little short.
good public course
the course was in good condition and the weather was great but the slow play of the groups in front of us took away from the experiance
Sleeper
Don't let the flatness of this course fool you. There are plenty of ways to get in trouble! Lots of trees and some narrow fairways make acuracy a good thing. Course layout was a little confusing but a good time was had by all. I'll go back.
Riverside Experience
On 9/14/2014 I went to go play Riverside with one other. During this visit, I was just amazing at some of the rude behavior and policies that were in place at this golf course.
1. Don't accept credit cards, and then sigh when I hand you my American Express and state, "Do you have a VISA instead?". If you accept the card, accept it, and deal with the charges / issues surrounding American Express.
2. The "Starter" needs a lesson in common sense and friendliness. Upon starting out, the starter said, "Hi, Hole 1, You can start up there"....while not really friendly, I can live with that, I'm here to play golf. After hole 9, I decided to use the restroom and purchase a hot dog and some beverages. At the concession stand, a sign reads, "VISA / MASTERCARD, $10 Minimum". American Express, obviously still accepted, is what I paid with. However, having a minimum purchase requirement on Credit Cards is against their agreement, and pretty ridiculous to have on a golf course. You pride yourself on customer service and a great golf course, having this sign makes you look like a joke. After paying, I literally walk out to my cart to sit down (mind you, the bathroom and hot dog purchase only took approximately 3-5 minutes), the starter walks over and says, "You need to hurry up, its a full course today." Is this guy serious? Either hire someone who knows how to do the job, or get rid of the guy.
At the end of the course, the gentlemen who collects the cards was incredibly friendly, and deserves a raise. Based on the previous customer service experiences at this location, this nice gentlemen deserves to be working at a different golf course.
great condition
Course is in great shape! Fun time! Would definitely play again!
Great value
This course had great value for the money. Great for beginners.
Friendly Staff
The guys in the pro shop were very helpful and very friendly. The course was in good shape and is a great value.
Disappointed
I would not play here again. We had a feeling it wasn't going to be a good experience given the way we were treated by the staff at check in and getting beverages. Unfriendly and not helpful even after saying it was our first time there. Course was very dry and rough. We did join up with some nice folks on the back nine.
Good course for the price
Our play was very slow. Five-some in front were beginners that we should have played thru. Liked the greens; the fairways and tee boxes were just okay.
Unfriendly staff & Too much white-trash
This is a good course to play if you are just trying to go out and get as lit as possible and play an easy round. The very few yardage markers they have are 10-20 yard off. The greens are absolutely terrible since none of the 'wife-beater and jeans' golfers know how to repair divots or not drag their feet. The marshall was either intoxicated or just not very smart. And the starter was absolutely clueless. I will probably be back to give them another chance considering they are close to my house and reasonably priced, but let's just say it wasn't a great experience.
Slow play
Great value for the money but extremely slow. Should not be allowed to walk 18 holes.
This course has value for your money
I've played this course twice now and overall it's a good course and the value is really good.
It has the same issues that other courses have at this price point ($25 per player for 18 w/a cart). Their business model is volume of golfers at a lower price per round. This volume puts a lot of strain on the course conditions. They do a good job to keep up with the volume, but there is only so much you can do. The course fairway grass is tough, and often hard and some tee boxes are in repair mode.
The course also has an odd layout. You often are crossing back and holes are very close to one another. In some instances to get to your next tee box you have to drive through another holes fairway.
Overall the course is in okay to good condition, just remember you only paid $25, and you get what you pay for. The course is often crowded, but that is their businesses model. They do their best to work out the traffic jams caused by party size and walk vs riding golfers. I would recommend this course to a friend.
Nephew's first round
I picked this course because i knew it was flat and open. I had my 13 year old nephew who has never played 18 hole only a little par 3 once or twice. It was good for him in there was not much trouble he could get in to. It is not a country club but a good course to start on and for the money. very flat so easy to walk if you wanted to.
