Sugar Creek Golf Course offers some of the best scenery of any course in the St. Louis area. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from the course's elevated tees. The course opened in 1990 with several improvements made in the following years. The layout is a manageable length at just under 6,100 yards. It is player-friendly enough for beginners to approach with confidence but there are also challenges in store for more advanced players. Water only comes into play on one hole but there are stands of trees lining the narrow fairways. The golf course will generously reward accuracy and good strategy though it is not overly punishing if you are slightly errant. In addition to the course, Sugar Creek G.C. also boasts an expansive practice range with 35 hitting stations.

Golfer Reviews
The fairways were over-seeded and not mowed. We did not finish the first hole. The conditions were terrible and the staff did not even warn us. Very disappointed.

Hidden Gem STL Course
You can sneak a peek at the Arch from the tee box of the 8th, and this hidden gem of a course is one of the best in the area. A few challenging holes balanced by a few fun ones as well. I think it’s a great value.
There is a driving range available, which is easier to get to after you have a cart. There’s also a putting green. The clubhouse has snacks and a full bar as well.
Starter created log jamb
730 tee time. Arrived to the box at 722 with 2 threesomes waiting infront of us and a wide open course (he held them up). Threesome's were scrambling from the reds and pushing all day, group behind us wouldn't play through when offered because they had buddies behind them. Played it but felt like i was playing maxi golf league course.
The greens had quite a few burned up or dead areas, and there were several tee boxes on the back nine that we played that were closed.
Also, I don't really like the layout of 15; even with a good drive in the center of the fairway you have very little view or chance of getting to the green.
Sugar Creek on a Saturday Morning
We had a good time at Sugar Creek. We were pleasantly surprised at the improvements (new sod) on some of the tee boxes. However, while that sod roots, you have to tee off from a box covered with carpet. Not ideal, but we made it work. Met up with some nice folks from Illinois. We enjoyed the pace on the greens, a little quicker than some courses out west of STL.

Value
$45 to play 18 with cart is a steal compared to the course rates in the area. Very well maintained fairways make it much better quality than similar priced courses and it’s a fun course with scenic views and elevation changes to add some unique challenge.
Best course for the price in the area
Fairways are fantastic, especially at the price. I just hope the course doesn’t price itself out of my price range haha
