Very challenging! Great course but excessive rain diminished the playability
The course was in good condition. It probably would've been in outstanding condition had it not rained for over a week straight before I played my round at Ledgestone. The rough was very deep because the course maintenance crew hadn't been able to run the mowers in the soggy soil. Needless to say, I lost quite a few balls in the thick rough.
The course was very challenging on several holes and is not well suited for a mid to high handicapper. The course is listed at 6,420 yards from the blue tees. However a lot of holes seemed to play quite a bit farther than what was listed on the scorecard. It seemed like the course actually played at around 6,800 from the blue tees. I am roughly a 22 handicap at my home course (which measures about 6,200 from the blues) but my score at Ledgestone was much higher than 22 over par. I believe that part of that was due to the extended length.
Other facets leading to the difficulty may include the slope rating (since there was a lot of elevation changes at Ledgestone) and the fact that there were also some very narrow fairways to hit off the tee (with out of bounds close by). Many of these holes were not safe to hit driver unless you were striking it well because the approach landing area in the fairway was narrow and the rough had been uncut and was about 3 inches deep. Also most of these holes with narrow approachs were long (425+ yard) par 4's where you couldn't really afford to hit 3 wood. Since I have been struggling with my driver this season (due to diminished playing time since the birth of our daughter in April) I struggled to play Ledgestone. I would not recommend the course to anybody who is having problems off the tee with their driver. Other than that, I would say the course is exceptional. If I get the chance to play again then I will make sure my game is put together a little better and I will play from the white tees which are listed at 5,873 yards because I bet they are closer to 6,000+ yards
Terrible experience
1st and last time playing this course Greens were in terrible shape. Pace of play worst I've ever dealt with. Wasn't that busy but some home owner members. They treated it like social hour. Took 5 to 10 minutes between shots. No one would let you play through. Terrible experience. By 13th hole had decided would never play this course again. Will never recommend it either
What a terrific experience.
This course has it all: great course details and challenges for all levels of play. The course is very well maintained and the layout is amazing. Each hole requires strategy and controlled shots. I would highly recommend Ledgestone to anyone looking for a great day of golf in the Ozarks.
Beautiful Course, Fun to Play
Third time I have played the course. Always maintained nicely, very playable, great facility8/16
Gem of a Course!
Heavy rains limited play to only the front nine but thoroughly enjoyed the course. Challenging but very playable if you play strategically. Immaculately maintained and spectacular views. A very fun course!
Very nice scenerey
My wife loves this course and would rather play here more than any other course in Branson. It was in pristine shape and was not that busy the day we played. We have played all the good courses in Branson, and this course ranks up with the top 4 in Branson.
This course is the best in the Branson area.
The course was in great condition and the greens were quick but not to quick. Not a bad lie in the fairways, but don't miss the fairway, the rough is very thick. I loved this course.
si8gnature hole 15 par three is absolutely beautiful.
Ledgestone is always in great shape and well maintained with plenty of beautiful scenery as the fairways meander through the Missouri Ozark hills and along Roark Creek. Great deals periodically through Golf-now for those on fixed incomes that find the regular pricing prohibitive.
Great outing
Very picturesque! In the top four courses in the Branson area.
First time golfing in the Ozarks
I was staying at the Stone Bridge resort where this course is located and had been looking forward to paying there for months. I had difficulty booking through the app, but GolfNow phone service helped me out. I played this $80 course for $25! Very challenging terrain, but a really fun round.
This is the MUST play course in Branson
We played 3 different courses in Branson this past week and by far this was the best course, in great shape, the pace of play was excellent played in 3 hours and 15 minutes and as we were on vacation even had time to take some great pics. The course is playable but challenging at the same time. Overall, it was a great course all the way around.
Beautiful Ledgestone
I have played the course before, and loved it the first time I played it. Going back and using Golf Now to play it again was great. We had a wonderful time, played pretty good, and hope to play it again in the future. Challenging, but fair, conditions were great, staff was friendly, and the hot dog at the Grille was amazing! One of Branson's finest.
Very pretty and fun course.
This is a very pretty course with flowers, etc. It is easy to get in trouble with a lot of rocks and hills requiring planning of shots. It is challenging but not overwhelming.
Lot of great beauty on this course and challenging at times!
We really enjoyed the course. The course is in excellent condition and is a beautiful course. The staff was very friendly, cordial, personable. We would definitely golf it again when back in the area.
4th time playing this course - I like it a lot.
This course requires you to definitely plan your shots, it has some (5 - I think) blind shots. Fairways are excellent and the greens are fast. I liked the layout and it is a beautiful course.
Well kept secret in Branson
There are a couple of other courses that get more publicity in Branson. However, Ledgestone is a fantastic course that should be considered. The staff was friendly and it was well worth the money. Put this one on your must play list.
Great experience
This was the first time me and my partner played this course. I was very impressed with the layout and the condition of the course. With the way the course is cut into the woods and hills it often gave a panoramic view of the surrounding area. Most of the time you don't even see another golfer
Great course with a lot of variety. Great help getting tee time and a very positive experience.
The course was in good shape and offers a lot of neat holes and variety. Pace of play was great and everyone was friendly & helpful.
Great course. Fun to play.
I've played this course a few times now. It has some unique holes on the course. Occasionally tight fairways. Most tee boxes are elevated and it also has some occasional uphill approach shots. Pretty setting in the Ozark Mountains of SW Missouri. I would get a tee time on Golfnow.com to get a discount.
This is a fun course!
We stayed in a Lodge at Stonebridge that was only minutes from the course so it was really convenient for us to play here. The facilities were great with a nice clubhouse, pro shop, restaurant, driving range etc. The carts are very nice with a user friendly GPS that really helps when playing for the first time! We will be playing here again!
